The hotel experienced power outages, there was no power from 4pm until 11pm during one day of my stay. Once the power resumed things would intermittently turn off or flicker. During the outages there was continuous light flickering and noises which were distressing. Staff weren't able to give updates at all, which is understandable, however, I feel like compensation should have been given as we couldn't use the room we'd paid for. We booked this specific room to use the kitchenette facilities, as we have dietary restrictions, we instead had to eat out. We also needed access to power and Internet for an event, which we missed due to the issues.

Such outages can be distressing, and I understand how this affected your ability to utilise the kitchenette and access necessary amenities for your event. The power cut was caused by a fault in the national grid which impacted supply to local businesses. Whilst our team tried their best to maintain a comfortable environment for all guests we do understand that this came with some unavoidable challenges. I regret that our team was unable to provide you with timely updates during this situation but I would like to highlight that our internet services and internal phone systems were down so our immediate priority was the welfare of our vulnerable guests. In regards to the concerns you raised I would like to ask you to make contact with the hotel so that I can look into this issue further and reach a resolution with you. Stayed 4 nights, 1 night had no electricity, no hot water during any of the days, ppl knocking at my hotel room door at 4am trying to sell me drugs, constant parties in the other rooms til 6 in the morning with screaming and music. Ontop of that the bed is a sofabed that is as hard as a wooden plank, the pillows were moldy inside and tiny

I apologize for the challenges you faced, particularly concerning the issues with electricity and hot water, as well as disturbances from other guests. The electrical and hot water issues were caused by an error in the national grid for which the boiler automatically goes into emergency shutdown. We were one of a number of properties over the weekend that experienced these issues and whilst we regret the experience this created for you, these were circumstances out of our control. We take security and comfort very seriously, and your comments will be reviewed with our team. Additionally, I regret to hear that the bed and pillows did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide a comfortable environment, we can offer additional pillows and blankets, but on this occasion I can see that no requests were made for your room. We remind you that our reception is available 24h to deal with guest concerns or queries, we also have a dedicated security team. We would always advise guests to report such incidents using the lounge app available through the QR code in every room or by visiting us in reception. I spent in the hotel a whole week: thanks to the great service and aways helpful employees I felt at home, super comfortable and safe! I found everything I needed (space to cook, coffee, even a iron!) it was quite and clean. The localisation was just perfect: with the bus going straight to the airport just in front of the hotel and the bus station on the other side of the street. The hotel is just at the start of the Digbeth district, which is for sure the most exiting, artistic and vibrant area of Birmingham. Just a great stay - thank you!

We had a wonderful stay. Linda and her colleague whose name I didn't catch were lovely. Very helpful and friendly. The apartment was well lit, comfortable and very clean. It was a great location for the event we attended just up the road with many bars and restaurants nearby. The reception staff gave good local advise.
