I booked for four nights. The safe did not work and after telling people at reception they said they could not get it to work. I was moved to another room where yet again the safe did not work. I asked for the next two days for it to be fixed which ment I had to carry flight tickets, passport etc with me in a very crowded area. The Restraunt food was ordinary with a very limited menus. On the first night of eating there I had to ask twice for my main course after waiting 45 min following my starter

Very professional and friendly and helpful staff. Lovely clean and comfortable room and bathroom. Great breakfast and excellent location. No noise at all in our bedroom . Would recommend.

Great stay staff were fabulous and very close to the NEC. Only issue was the noise in the night of other guests arriving in the early hours we could here everything in the hall.

To have a toilet in a cubicle with no hand basin is in our opinion unhygenic. & unacceptable! This existed in our room (303). I orderered a glass of wine at the bar and was not asked what size I wanted. I was charged for a large glass!!

Petty procedures, poor Covid sanitation processes and habitual liars

On the whole the stay was satisfactory. The room was comfortable. However..... there is a level of poor management in this branch, especially on the competence level for staff. As an Accor member i went to the bar with my voucher for my (un)welcome drink. When i asked for two glasses of red wine the bar tender was forceful in telling me i was ONLY entitled to a small glass of wine, house variety, and no eligible for this and that spirit. As a long serving Accor member I don't need some jobs worth telling me what I can't get when i only asked for a specific item. The set up of the bar was ridiculous. This girl took your order and served (begrudgingly in my case) your drink and another colleague took the payment. Unfortunately, this silly system was way out od sync and people got their 4 pints and waited..... waited.... waited.... and eventually took their drinks to the table and were on the verge of finishing before they got to pay for them. The whole mantra of Accor for Covid cleanliness is a sham, not just in this branch but others i have recently visited. I told the reception that there was no hand sanitiser fluid in either of the lifts. Come the NEXT morning they were still dry, along with the other boxes around the reception area. This proves that there is no strategy for realistic cleanliness in this branch. What the website and posters say is clearly NOT true. We were staying with our child (3 years old) and checked the hotel website restaurant menu to see what our son could eat. When we say at the table we were presented with a rather empty menu which was completely different from what i downloaded 10 minutes previously. The server told me (when i showed the pdf of the menu) that this was pre-covid and that everyone was working from home and no one had an opportunity to amend the website. I did challenge him as lying. Covid restrictions more or less came into being in March 2020 and this was September 2021. I hate it when people try to hide their incompetence behind lies and use Covid as an excuse. If Novotel staff worked from home for 16 months surely someone could remove the alleged out os date menu. The farce didn't stop there. The wrong drinks were delivered to the table (3 pints of lager). Even when i pointed out that one of our party was only 3 years old do you think you got this order correct? The waitress looked confused. And on top of this the meals from two other tables were delivered to us and sent away. When our meals did come they were bland and of a microwave ready meal quality. I like the Novotel (Accor) brand but this place is shocking badly managed. Unfortunately, airport hotels tend to be less concentrated on quality as they don't care much for repeat business and you can get away with dishing up any trashy service to passing traffic.

I understand Covid precautions so was told I could only be fitted in for at dinner at 630. We were placed next to two other full tables when other sets of tables remained empty. When the tables beside us finished and left, they then had new customers. The restaurant had about 12 tables full and about 25 empty. The full tables were next to each other. That is not Covid secure.

Staff vey welcoming, on arrival I was treated to a room upgrade and breakfast added to my account nat no extra charge. I did not hear any aeroplane noise during the night, as a result, a good nights sleep, dinner menu could be enlarged, it didn't reflect the choice in the website

Tired hotel on Birmingham Airport

Hotel very tired needing refurb of public areas and bar, limited poor menu of mediocre food of poor quality ingredients, hotel showing full menu influenced stay and was still published as we went to restaurant. At £202 a night expect better- stoped previous night at 5* hotel in Cardiff for £35 less -a world of difference in qualityand professionalism to the better. We will not be returning, this is no reflection on staff and duty manager who were professional but working with corporate standards.

Always stay here when I fly from Brum, so about once a year. Room was great as was restaurant in the evening and the bar but dear me breakfast was dismal and chaotic. I stood waiting (I use a stick and cant stand for long) the waitress saw me but did not respond or even acknowledge I was there. After about 5 mins, another waitress appeared and sat me down. However, she didn't say where anything was so I sat waiting for someone to ask me if I wanted tea or coffee. But then found, I had to serve myself. Now some places even help me or get me the food but nothing here. I had to find the tea and coffee and then search for the milk which was no where near the drinks(!) another guest said how confusing it was and a few notices would be helpful or at least a verbal instruction(!) SO full marks for the evening meal but MUST TRY HARDER for the breakfast service please.

Very efficient check in. Extremely comfortable room. We went for what I think is called the Executive room. Lovely meal in the restaurant with excellent service. Always stay here prior to a flight and will definitely stay again.

Novotel Birmingham Airport. I love my pre holiday stay here! Spotlessly clean, beds sooo comfortable. Very pleasant and helpful staff throughout. Many thanks to all working on the evening of 6th September, despite being very busy they were still efficient, helpful and attentive. A lovely relaxing start to my holiday!
