Great hotel

A really great budget hotel. The room was clean and had everything I needed. I stayed on a Wednesday, there was hardly any road noise. A great location for central Birmingham. One of the lifts wasn't working but an engineer was on site. There's an underground car park The hairdryer was powerful, good shower and a great heating system with instructions. Breakfast was the usual Ibis standard, and there was plenty to choose from. Knocked a star off because the pillows were rock hard. Otherwise, a great hotel for the price. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely staff, good location, few draw backs

I stayed at this hotel for one night with friends as we were going to a going at the O2 It is central, but the walk up the hill was 10 minutes and I'm not very fit. Check in / bar staff, really lovely. The double room was big, and despite lots of lights, it was still quite dark. The bed was ok, not terrible or amazing. The bathroom was well equipped, good lighting in here to do make up. My only real gripe were the pillows, they were all very fat and firm, I know some people like these, but if I stay again, I would take my own. I like a choice of flat and or soft ones. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment. The drinks at the bar were expensive but on a par with most hotels. One tip, ask for a room that doesn't face the street. Although the windows were good at sound proofing, Birmingham is still a city and there is a bit of noise.

I stayed in an 'accessible' room, number 303. It was a good size, however the toilet & shower set up, with them being right next to each other, make toilet transfers from a chair challenging. The mirror height in the room is problematic when trying to style hair with me being unable to see myself from either my chair or on the very flimsy plastic chair provided & obviously there are no plugs in the bathroom where the mirror is just perfect! Please reduce the height of the mirrors in these room a bit, honestly 15-20cm would probably be sufficient! But having plug sockets & USBs directly below the mirror was fabulous! The room was very clean & comfortable though! One other comment, as a solo traveller the room door was incredibly stiff (the handle movement) and the doors themselves were incredibly heavy (including bathroom door here). As an ambulatory wheelchair user I was able to mostly make it work.. but solo wheelchair users may really struggle. Some form of delayed closure device & a slightly lighter door would be helpful!

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re pleased you enjoyed the room, and we appreciate your suggestions regarding the bathroom layout, mirror height, and door accessibility. We’ll pass this on to our team to help improve future stays. Kindest regards, Ionela Operations Manager

Parking and check in was easy. Room had all it needed but very dimly lit. Breakfast OK, would be improves by the addition of tomatoes & mushrooms and a choice of breads to include sourdough.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the parking convenience and the quietness of your room. We appreciate your suggestions for breakfast enhancements, and we will certainly take them into consideration for future improvements. Goodbye, and best wishes, Ibis Styles Birmingham Centre
