Well run establishment. I found the staff most polite and friendly. I forgot my watch in my room and marked it down as lost. Decided to call in after long thoughts. Got my watch back in less than 72 hours. Nice touch.

Good stay. Had issues with room keys sometimes they would work sometimes they wouldn't. Changed keys about 4 times was told they're very temperamental. Not good when you get to your room and the key doesn't work. Also I'm a Accor hotel member, received a email before arriving saying show your card at reception to receive a extra benefit. Was told at reception it only applies to silver membership and above, which to me is misleading so was Dissappointed about that. Overall though the hotel is in a very good location and the breakfast was excellent, will come again.

Check in Ok, room basic. Cheap and horrible tea bags and not even a bottle of water. Won’t stay here again. Ibis I stay in in London is tons better.

Missing Cashback

Overall experience was not bad, but I am disappointed with the missing cashback. One of the reasons I decided to stay in Novotel was the cashback deal that Accor posted on Quidco website. I always use that site and every other company I use, automatically tracks the cashback quickly, without any need for me to track manually or claim. Only company I had an issue was Accor. I feel like this is done on purpose not to pay the cashback for the customers that don't realize it has not been properly tracked. I will definitely avoid Accor in the future due to this attitude.

Good, however room very dated and bathroom. Especially the dingy toilet for the money.

Nice stay after nightmare booking experience

I tried to make a booking through Tesco Clubcard vouchers, and the experience was an absolute nightmare. I won’t go into the details again as I’ve already done so through a complaint to the Novotel Central Reservations team. The response to my complaint from the central team was equally appalling. However, the manager of the hotel that I was eventually able to book, a gentleman called Arif at the Novotel Birmingham Central hotel on Broad Street, was really excellent in going a long way to turning my experience around. His communication was excellent, and he made a real effort to apologise for the awful booking experience, and to look after us during our stay. You should know what an asset he and his staff at the hotel are to Novotel, the only ones in the process who truly seemed to care for the customers’ experience.

The hotel is well located for the city centre which is about 10 mins walk away. The rooms are ok although starting to look a little tired. The room was a little cool unless the heating was left on all day when out. It's probably fine if just coming back to sleep but not great if trying to get some work done in the evening. A bonus is having a fridge in the room.

Perfect area to visit with children, close to Legoland and Aquarium but if you’re coming without children there are so many restaurants and pubs nearby.

I have stayed here a couple of times, but wouldn't put it on my list of favourites. The front desk service is very polite, the rooms were clean and well appointed and there is an underground car park. The "upgrade" to a superior room is not worth the price - unless you desperately need a dressing gown and coffee pod machine for the night. The rooms all appear to be the same size - small. The restaurant is impersonal - I've been in better Ibis facilities - and the bar is no better. Again, the service was good, but the hotel does not feel inviting. I should also add that the car park only has stair access, so tough luck if you are disabled or have heavy luggage. Even if the lift did go down to the basement there is a 6" to 8" step between the car park and the stairwell. To cap it all, 2 weeks later I am still waiting for them to provide me with correct invoices.

Fantastic location, walking distance to arena and amongst an abundance of bars and restaurants, parking was no problem (researches tips online for where to find it etc), room very clean and comfy, breakfast was great. We stayed with our two children for one night and had a great weekend!
