I booked a night as we were attending a local theatre. After paying for the room we were advised that there was no airconditioning In the hotel - on one of the hottest nights of the year. We were shown a ‘handle’ we could ask for if we wanted to open the window. We decided that we wouldn’t want to stay in a room with no air and requested a refund. All of a sudden there was no one available to authorise this. So we said we would come back the next day and we went to the Mercure around the corner. I emailed the hotel as advised by the desk clerk that night and the next day we went back. Again - no one in charge to authorise a refund. I emailed again - no response. I have gone to your FB page and no response either? Not expected from Accor.. very disappointing. Would be nice for someone to contact us about getting our refund!!!

Looks good outside but not really good inside

Lovely stay

We had a lovely stay. On arrival we were greeted by friendly helpful staff who spoke very good English. The hotel is in a good location and a five minute walk to the tram station which links up with the metro lines. It is a five minute walk to a busy street with lots of takeaways, restaurants, shops etc. We did not use the facilities but noticed that the games area in reception was well used by families. The only reason I have not given ten is that one of the two rooms we booked had quite a few stains on the carpet but otherwise the rooms and rest of the hotel were spotlessly clean. One thing I would mention is that when booking it looked as if all of the rooms have double beds and I really wanted twin beds in one. This nearly stopped me booking but there were not many hotels with availability due to the champions league final so I decided to go ahead. It was only when we arrived that we were told that the rooms we booked had both a double bed and a double sofa bed so this was ideal but maybe this should be clearer on the website. Overall it was perfect and we would book again.

No air con at 30 degrees Celsius

We were given a handle to open the window as the air con is not working! Having read the reviews that issue seems to have occurred many weeks ago ! Definitely the worst Novotel I’ve ever stayed in. Room outdated and hotel staff not the friendliest.
