One day before our checkout on Friday Nov 28th, we informed the front desk on our request for late check-out for both rooms 635 and 637 (adjacent connecting rooms). My family was in 635 and my parents were in 637. As I am a gold member, I was offered complimentary late check-out till 2pm for both rooms. But I required an even later checkout, so I was proposed with an additional top-up of 60 EUR for another 2 hours till 4pm per room. I opted to extend room 635 till 4pm. On Saturday Nov 29th, when I returned at 1.45pm to move my parents' luggage from 637 to 635, we realized that their luggage and all items on the tables were missing. The entire room was cleared out. Upon clarification with the front desk, they explained that there was some miscommunication and room 637 was cleared out by housekeeping at 12pm earlier that day, as they could not find anybody in the room. My family and I were mildly traumatized to find all my parents' belongings missing from the room. The minimum the hotel could have done was to call me to check if I required an extension for the room (because of their internal miscommunication), before unilaterally deciding to pack everything out and clear our room 637 without informing me. I would not even have been half as displeased if they went ahead to charge me an extension fee for late check out for both rooms. But as a loyal supporter of the Accor Group, I found this experience extremely upsetting to say the least. At this point, I am seriously considering continuing my membership with the Group. Given this unpleasant, and very unprofessional experience above. I sincerely hope something can be done to ensure that myself, as well as other patrons at Sofitel Munich Bayerpost, never have to go through such a harrowing experience again.

We are reviewing our communication workflows, late check-out tracking procedures, and guest-contact protocols to ensure that a similar situation cannot happen again. No room should ever be vacated without clear confirmation, and your experience highlights an urgent need for improved cross-department coordination. I am personally overseeing this review. We stayed at the Sofitel for three nights with my spouse. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a pleasant ambiance, a clean and elegant fragrance, and a friendly reception team. We stayed in a superior room, and everything was thoughtfully arranged—clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Breakfast was delicious and full of great options. The hotel manager, Mr. Umut, took wonderful care of us. He helped make our stay special with his restaurant recommendations for dinner, his kind gestures regarding the hotel, and even by telling us about a local festival we wouldn't have known about otherwise. In short, if I visit Munich again, I will definitely choose the Sofitel once more.
