We've stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it's met our needs. This time, however, the room's carpet was filthy - stains everywhere. The pool was closed for one day - disappointed kids. Construction on building started at 7:30am and vibrated the whole room. The information about going to Rulantica was bad - DO NOT TAKE THE TRAIN THERE EVER. The desk staff didn't extend the stay one more night as requested and created a big conflict as a result. The staff lied about our dog barking all day and when shown the data from an iPhone left in the room that this was not true -they did not apologize. They judge guests based on what they wear and caused us stress and tried to embarrass us. The housekeeping staff ignore do-not-disturb signs and do not respect check-out hours by going into rooms early despite said signs. If your hotel and their staff truly cared about the welfare of doggie guests, your extra charges would pay for amenities such as a dog bed, door handle placard warning a dog is in the room, a water dish and small food bags. These were all items offered to us in Ulm at the Maritime hotel when we stayed there with our dog a few days before. There are lots of hotels in Freiburg and we are hard pressed for a reason that we should return or even stay with Novotel again.

Good location, comfortable but issues with the key card and late check out

Location is great (Altstadt nearby) and very convenient (tram, train,...) The room was very big and comfortable. The only issues we had were related to the card which stopped working every day and also the late checkout, we booked it but somehow the information system in the hotel did not have that information and then the message that the hotel is full and it cannot be proposed. This is annoying.

After several stay I always come back to the Novotel, staff, rooms, hotel location! The hotel doesn't change and it is good so! A great addition this time the summer terrace bar in front of the hotel, which gives a beach atmosphere in t he middle of the city!

I have try to extend my stay one day more the said no room available and also extend chick out also just before click in for others one hour and hafe any way usually my stay is comfortable thanks.
