From the moment we arrive at the hotel we were not made to feel welcome. We knew when we arrived that we were too early to check in but were looking to drop our bags off as my mum who I was travelling with has reduced mobility so we needed to drop the bags off so we could have a look around the city. We were served by Robin (we think that was his name but when we asked other staff for his name later that day they were reluctant to tell us) who was damn right rude to us! There was no “Welcome to Novotel” or anything similar. Instead he said “You’re two hours too early to check in” there was no offer to let us drop our bags off instead we had to prompt and ask if we could do this. We have stayed at numerous Novotel’s before and never had such a horrible customer service experience until now. This has put us off staying with you ever again. To further dissatisfy us when we did check in later that day we still did not receive a welcome or a friendly service. Our room was old and not suitable for someone with reduced mobility as the shower was in a bath that was too high to get in and out of safely. In this day and age we would expect all rooms to be accessible for all. You had a sign in the bathroom which said how much water could be saved by showering instead of a bath - you are not advocating for this by continuing to have baths in rooms. Our pillows were also dissatisfactory they felt matted together and lumpy with little to no support at all. The only saving grace was that we had a train at 6:00 am the next morning which meant we could leave early.

I ended up leaving a day early to stay at a different hotel because I was extremely unsatisfied with my stay. The two main issues I experienced were: 1). The payment system was not working the night I arrived. I had no issues using my credit cards for any other hotel stays during my time in Europe but the Novotel system would not accept them. Staff asked me to come back the next day to try again. When I came back to the reception desk in the morning, the system still wasn't working and instead of trying any alternative payment via online methods, the staff member told me to go to an ATM and take out the full amount - nearly 1200 euro - and then gave me incorrect directions to the nearest ATM. I also was charged 20 euro in ATM fees as a result of this. I saw another guest go through a similar experience later on in my stay, which indicated to me that the Novotel took no initiative in resolving the issue, and made the guests deal with the burden of taking out large amounts of cash. 2). I was not informed when I booked online that my room was for only a single guest, so when I informed the staff on Thursday, the second last night of my stay, that my spouse was arriving on Friday and would be staying the night, they told me that wasn't allowed because "the bed was too small". This was obviously not true, it was a double bed. Regardless, I asked what solution they recommended. The staff member told me to come back the next day when the manager would be in. I informed her that I would be away on business from 8am to 6pm, and she said that was fine and to talk to the manager then. When I returned to the reception desk on Friday after my business day was concluded, the manager told me that there was nothing I could do because the "room was already cleaned", so if I had talked to them earlier they could have switched my rooms. As it stood, he told me I needed to pay a full additional night for the 2 person room. He said if I had asked to change rooms "before midday" they could have accomodated that, but since I was asking later in the day, he refused to help. I went back to my room, packed my luggage, and checked out immediately. Staff and management at this hotel are very poorly equipped to handle any issues and are not solution oriented. There are so many ways these issues could have been resolved, but unfortunately the behavior of the staff resulted in a very stressful stay for me, and I will not be staying at any Accor or Novotel hotels in the future.

I booked the room as part of a birthday getaway for my daughter and me. I was disappointed with the service as they kept doubting whatever I said including breakfast, room, etc. , the room wasn't clean and the sofa bed wasn't made up. The kettle was also dirty.

I checked in for 3 nights and the staff were professional, ppolite & helped me with a great rundown of places to see & eat that evening which was very welcome so I could get out to the town & grab the chance of seeing a sunset. Everything was great during my stay but on the morning I checked out I needed some extra support with a mini emergency & I have to give a massive shout out to Lara Sunjic who listened & tried to resolve the best she could but then she had to check with her supervisor & manager for approvals but did not hesitate to do this and was able to resolve my situation very promptly. I think this hotel has a great group of people working there and I was very impressed with the customer service provided! Thanks Novotel!

For a '4-star hotel' some staff members lack politeness and etiquette and the hotel 'infrastructure' is rather old than modern (no chargers near the bed, not many lights in bathroom, lack of amenities like body lotion and conditioner etc.) the underground gym pool and sauna area stinks a lot like chlorine and has no proper ventilation (it was very hot in there), the only two workout-machines they have are quite old too and in a very tiny room. The hotel breakfast was very expensive for what it really is, and unfortunately not good: the eggs were cold and not properly made, bread was stale, juice was 80% water, just machine coffee (no filter), only pros were the pancakes and the breakfast service-team was very polite and nice, but besides that it is really not worth the absurd price. Hours before the check-out a staff member just entered our room too to announce he was going to clean it (and we put the sign saying 'dont enter/clean it, we are in the room'). I would not return, it wasn't a very pleasant stay...

Great location next to train and bus station. Hotel lobby and restaurant nice. Rooms could do with some modernisation and additional sockets. Comfortable and clean though.

Well located hotel directly opposite the train station. Ideal for visiting the city (pleasant short walk) but also for using as a base to explore the Black Forest, due to proximity to the station. Hotel itself is quite dated in its decor. Definitely needs an upgrade, very basic rooms. Ours didn't even have a TV remote. But it's clean and functional for a short trip like ours.

We arrived in the afternoon, after having informed the check in desk about arrival time. We were 2 families. We arrived at the hotel and there was only 1 person available for the check. It was amazing, we had to wait for 75 minutes, with all our Kids before completing the procedure. When we reached the desk, the person there made a mistake and we took 20 more minutes to complete the procedure, personally it is not acceptable. In a 4 stars hotel you should have a minimum of amenities in the room (brush, comb, flip flops, etc), despite that in the hotel nothing was available. The dimension of the rooms is not very suitable for 3 people, but mostly for 2. The Comfort of the rooms is very good. The price of the breakfast is super high and honestly the ratio quality/price is not correct. The price of the internal parking is 28 €/days and the spaces are very small and not comfortable. The worst experience that we had is the last night. The Team forgot to clean, to refurbish and to change the stuff in the bathroom. We have called the front desk and after 20 calls, a guy came at 20.00 saying that something happened and forgot to clean and to refurbish our room. I have asked to have a meeting the following day with the Manager but he didn't show up and not explanation came. I think there is lot of improve on services, on quality and on prices.

We booked this hotel because of it was walking distance to the train station, it could accommodate our family bed needs, and the price was in our budget. We were pleasantly surprised at the overall quality of the facility and appreciated the spacious rooms, fast elevators, fridge and coffee, and access to the small pool and fitness center. Our only concerns were our inability to control the temperature in our room, and there was no safe available. We had read many reviews from disappointed customers and decided to take a chance anyway and are glad we did.
