Location if the hotel is good. But the room was poorly equipped, not thw standard you would expect for almost 200 Euros (without parking and breakfast) a night in a Mercure Hotel (I have been in many). Simply not worth the money.

Overall, the stay was pleasant nice view at the Porta Nigra. There where two things that could be better, the ventilation in the bathroom was very poor, it makes that there is a unpleasant smell when you enter the room. The second is the noise of the air conditioner, as long as you put the fan on 1 it is ok but on two the noise is not very conformable. Breakfast was good, room was clean.

Trier was the last visit and destination of a 6 week European and UK trip from Australia. Trier was more than we expected and the hotel placed us in a fantastic position to be able to walk to most places. It was wonderful to be able to see the Porta Nigra every day. The staff were welcoming and polite despite different languages. It was welcome home after being out and about in Trier. Well done Mercure Hotel Porta Nigra. 👍😀

Ac is not in good condition. It is quiet old and difficult to set up and is taking lot of time to bring the temperature.
