Good location close to town centre, with nice view of the Roman gate. Quite dated throughout, average breakfast, no fridge, the safe didn’t work. Helpful staff gave me good parking space.

Most unfriendly and rude welcome Dirty room with toe nails and hair of someone else. Broken light that going off in the evening. When shared feedback upon check out I got answered with "ah you were the one asking for an upgrade?", not thank you for the feedback or apologies for the inconvenience.

Im overall satisfied, Kind and friendly personal. In terms of bathroom cleanness especially the toilet I see room for improvement. If a toilet lid is aged and cannot be cleaned .. I clearly vote for a replacement. I found for me solution and therefore it is not a 9/10.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, especially with my wife's gluten free medical needs. Hotel could do with losing a casino and gaining a pool. Great breakfast buffet I would have eaten in the hotel lunch and dinner if there were low fodmap menu options. Also please replace the baths with a walk in shower.

The Mercure Hotel Trier Porta Nigra is in an ideal location opposite the Roman gate of the same name. Arriving by car was very easy with the hotel's underground car park. Reception was friendly and at the same time professional. The same comment is true of all the hotel staff we encountered. The room had a classic view of the Porta Nigra. I would recommend the hotel as the place to stay in Trier.
