Room was good and front desk personnel were helpful. Restaurant experience for dinner on April 27 was terrible. Waited one hour for food after ordering. My wife’s meal was finally served 15-20 minutes after my meal was served. We should haves dined elsewhere.

The location was wonderful and the breakfast buffet enjoyable with many options. Toiletries were not provided until the last night of our five night stay and some towels were thin. Would have expected a bit better in this area for a four star hotel. The staff was excellent and very accommodating. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Reception staff excellent. Rooms very good. Stay spoilt by cleaners just removing do not disturb sign and rearranging everything we had set up to help disabled wife get in and out of bath and make bed comfortable.

I stayed during Christmas holiday, however the service wasn't affect at all. Room was well cleaned. Variety of international TV channel. Breakfast wasn't my favorite also the room is a bit dark. Overall it is good for business stay.

Verbal abuse and physical intimidation by staff ruined holiday

The staff were very aggressive. They verbally abused and shouted at me. The hung up the phone when I wanted to complain. The physically approached me to intimidate me when I asked them to please stop talking to me. There is no manager in the weekend. They called me with a curse word when I made a suggestion. I have evidence of this. I have complained via email and did not get an acknowledgement. I should have called the police. There is no rights for guests in this hotel and it would ruin your holiday. Would not stay in any mercure as it I suffer from sleepless nights because of all what happened that was not investigated.

Dear Ms. M., Of course, we immediately contacted the appropriate staff. As you were already informed upon arrival on 26.11.2021, it is compulsory to wear a FFP2 or a medical mask.This is a legal requirement of the German Government. My employees are obliged to abide by this law, which unfortunately also means to control it. A scarf is not enough in this case. You can read that everywhere. We would have gladly given you a mask upon your direct request, when you entered the hotel. Your husband could have come to the front desk just beforehand. Later, when you already reached the elevator, my staff offered your husband a mask for you. If there have been any misunderstandings in communication here, I’m sorry. But it does not change the mask requirement, which has been in place for almost 2 years in Germany. We would like to ask you to delete the video of my employee immediately. There is also a law in Germany, that prohibits making videos of other people without permission. Thank you in advance. The hotel is directly in front of the porta nigra. Easy to reach also the city center with all the shops and caffees.Rooms are good. Breadfast too. Parking space is unfortunately very expensive.The bar opens unfortunately only in the evening 5pm.

The staff where very nice and helpful at the front desk and the hotel was clean. It is also in an excellent location. My negative comment is about breakfast. I asked what the breakfast was like since it is during COVID and was told it would be a full buffet. It was dry scrambled eggs, so kind a sausage and beans. The bread and croissants where are dry and stale. I only took breakfast as I wanted to get up early and eat before cycling for the day and this was terrible.

This is a very fine hotel. Very helpful persons at the reception. The room was fine and clean, ours overloking the Porta Nigra. Breakfast was fine and the restaurant spacious. The bar was open from 5o'clock and it is possibly to sit outside and enjoy af good german beer. It seems like it was build in the 1970'ies when you looked at the breakfast-restaurant and the broad staircase from the reception. The bathroom was also Accor-classic, which gave us a lot of space to put out things and everything worked fine and was very clean, which felt good and safe in covid-19-times

We booked a room with a view on the Porta Nigra. These rooms are more expensive but we thought it would be worth it. When we checked in and went to the room, we realised that we got a room with a 'view' but on the carpark at the back of the hotel. As we cannot imagine that the booking systems used by Mercure do not indicate the type of room their guests are booking, we assume that the very unfriendly receptionist was not paying attention or worse ... tried to cheat. Our very positive impression we got at the Mercure in Koblenz the night before, changed completely to a very negative one of Mercure and Accor in general.

I sincerely apologize for the deficiencies and human errors that unfortunately caused inconveniences for you. It sure looks like there were some major flaws within the reservations department including the check-in procedures. Sorry to also learn that the behaviour of the staff at reception was less than satisfactory. I appreciate your honest critique which will be the basis for discussions within our local team - and a careful evaluation of the root of these problems. Rest assured that we will take necessary measures so that an experience like yours will continue to be the rare exception. On a personal note and on behalf of my team, I would like to ask you to come back once more for an opportunity to prove to you that we can do a much better job. Rooms clean and recently renovated. Staff were very friendly and helpful but I had asked for a room suitable for disability and ended up with a room at the far end of the 5th floor = not good in event of emergency.

Great Mercure hotel from Accor group... we had superior double on 5th floor with view of Porta Nigra - well worth the extra! Very efficient and quiet A/C which was absolutely necessary when the temp was 36deg outside. Nice breakfast but pricey at E16.. Car parking was E13 per night but was right below the hotel and well lit and easy access.
