I stayed at the Mercure Porta Nigra when going to Trier to see the sights and go to the Christmas market. It was perfectly situated across the street from one of the most recognizable sights (Porta Nigra) and easy walking distance to the market area (in the Hauptmarkt), the Dom, Constatine's Basilica, the Karl Marx statue and home, the old Jewish quarter, etc. Although I was only there for 1.5 days, I saw a lot, learned a lot, and ate a lot of great food. But note that although onsite parking is listed as an amenity, you need to pay for it! Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

Great location with view on of the city's landmarks. Friendly professional staff. Rooms are a bit outdated but size of rooms are good with all the ammenities one can wish for. Bed n pillow were not to my personal taste , which made my night rest a bit less comfy . But all in all a great stay .

+ Beds reasonable, mattress was about a medium firmness. Location in Trier was convenient. Spacious rooms. Friendly staff. - Poor lighting in room. No fridge in room. Unfortunately, the toilet had urine from previous guest in it. No other cleanliness issues, so appeared to be an oversight.

Location very good, but otherwise the quality not high. wrong information at the check-in about the parking price.

We enjoyed our stay at your hotel. Great view of Porta Nigra from our room. Parking was very convenient. Breakfast was great, again with a wonderful view. The only thing we did not like was the location of the toilet immediately behind the bathroom door.
