Right, Ibis usually have a bad reputation but I did hold that against them and went ahead to book this stay. There was a little hiccup when checking in but the front desk sorted it out very efficiently. Big shout to Nivaldo!!!! Room was clean, smelt fresh and bed was very comfy. Can’t say much about the pillow as it was a bit disappointing for me, too flat, but again it could be someone’s favourite, it comes down to preference. Had some food and drinks at the restaurant which were okay.

We are very loyal to AccorHotels, holding a Gold membership and an All Plus card. We have stayed at many hotels from this group, but unfortunately, this was the first time we received the worst welcome ever. The receptionist was rude and insisted that we pay for two late check-outs, even though we had already vacated the first room around noon. Usually, we receive a phone call from reception to check if we want to extend our stay or request a complimentary soft late check-out around 1:30–2:00 PM. However, this time, we received no call at all. This was by far our worst experience at an AccorHotel.

There was a scaffolding with a tarpaulin hanging on it in front of my window that completely blocked any view to the outside world. Somehow nobody cares to notify you of this in advance. I guess also due to the construction, the window was bolted shut. That would not be such a big problem if you had any other way to control the boiling temperature in the room, but you don't. There is a thermostat but it's not doing anything. Like this it's just a hot windowless hole. I've been to better hostels than this for a fraction of the price. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because the bed and the shower are good.

Good location, friendly reception staff. A few too many things badly designed or damaged for my taste. For example, the toilet lid covered the flushing buttons when open...
