I booked mine,my son into state at the Hotel. Informed me that because he was 17 he could not stay that night on a transfer overnight at Brisbane Airport. There was no requirement in the booking process to discuss the fact that he was 17 not 18 and they were refused to take him and he ended up with no accommodation in Melbourne that night. Discussed it with the manager who promised to get back to me and had no response in regard to a refund. Unless you specifically ask for birthdate, you cannot then refuse to take the booking based on the birthdate Refund request requested immediately

Previously I have stayed at other Ibis Budgets so was “aware” what I was in for with my booking. However after a 9hr flight, I arrived at my booking to find my room first of all was on the top floor and they had no options of lifts available. After lugging my 30kg bag up the flights of stairs, the room appeared dirty, uncomfortable and not somewhere I could stay. The bed felt extremely uncomfortable and sheets seemed dirty, the room was freezing and the blanket provided was hard and again didn’t feel clean. Due to this and being uncomfortable staying, we went across to the terminal and arranged for a flight home. This cost us an additional $700 (which was our choice) and we checked out after only being at the hotel for a couple of hours. There was no way as sleep deprived as we were we would feel comfortable staying. Due to this I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, I would suggest cleaning procedures improved as I imagine the hotel getting a lot of travellers staying, in future I’ll be spending the extra to stay at one of the hotels in the area that is not ibis budget.
