We had a fantastic stay at the Mercure Melbourne Caroline Springs and would happily stay again! A special mention to Fiona, who was such a kind, friendly and helpful staff member. She made us feel very welcome and is a real credit to the hotel. The beds were super comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the location is perfect, with shops conveniently close by. The in-house restaurants were honestly some of the best places to eat! The food and drinks were excellent, and our discount was applied to our bill, which was a lovely bonus. I stayed for 15 days, 2 of those nights was with my family and I required a cot. I reminded them twice, and still no cot. When my family arrived, reception stated housekeeping have gone home so will look at it tomorrow, which meant my child would have nowhere to sleep. The staff member did not seem concerned at all and would not guarantee a bed would be available for my child. She said she would 'look into it' but would not guarantee it. This ruined our dinner as I was so worried about where she would sleep. Finally a cot was put in our room, but not mattress, no bedding. I had to request it and only got sheets and a blanket, so my child had to sleep on the rock hard base of the cot. Housekeeping removed all the towels from my room on day, so getting out of the shower I had to dry myself with a face cloth. A party of at least 10 teenage girls were in the adjoining room one night, I rang three times, and all they did was phone them, where they'd turn the music down, then turn it up again, even with ear plugs the music was incredibly loud. Staff did not escalate it, so I had no sleep all night long. They also didn't address the 'party' with way more in the room than was allowed. The staff really didn't seem to care, when I spoke to management about the cot they ended up paying for my meal, but there didn't appear to be a level of care at all for customer service. As a platinum member this really wasn't a nice stay at all.

Morning team leader was very apologetic and appeared geniunely suprised of my check in experience seeing it was incorrectly done initially / checked by the 2 previous members who did not spot the initial error but persisted with demanding my cash..That was the first time i had been told i would have to sleep on a parkbench until it could be sorted in the morning. Sour taste was left but i do not hold grudges nor believe in bad public reviews, i will eventually get over that experience.

The cleaners did a very good job of cleaning our room. The service by the "Miss Caroline" staff was very pleasant over our 4 mornings of breakfast.

Firstly we booked because of the heated pool & spa. To unpack & find the pool cold & spa not in working order was disheartening. Stayed for 2 nights, meals from Saige were impressive & lovely. The shower had to be turned all the way onto hot,the shower pressure well my husband said he could pee harder than that. It was terrible. The bed was so hard & the middle was horribly hard. No rest at all. 307 is terrible.The fridge froze our milk & drinks even after turning it down. We're not provided enough coffee, sugar or milk unfortunately. I took some off the cart the following morning & the milk froze solid. A black spider was on the pillow in the morning.The lift would not work, cleaning staff were also not able to get it to work, we had to use the stairs, lucky we weren't disabled. Unfortunately we would not book again due to the accumulation of so many issues. We never complain,we are extremely easy going however we felt the need to express our displeasure, so much for a lovely Melbourne weekend.

For whatever reason we were allocated a room directly opposite where the construction is occurring. I asked to be swapped to a Lake view but none were available. We were advised to try again in the morning but by then we couldn't be bothered moving. Disappointed as being a Gold ALL Accor member such an allocation tells me insufficient thought went into the room allocation as we were booked in for 6 days and that room meet none of my preferences.

When entering or exiting hotel late afternoon and evening people were regularly smoking near the front door - very unpleasant. School holiday time which numbers of children in dining / play area which was extremely noisy and unpleasant dining. Dining areas acoustics not good. Disappointed that numbers of smoke
