requested a quiet room, yet room was directly above loading dock area with trucks operating from 3am on Monday morning. i completed details (like preferred water option etc.) via app/web site pre check inn, only for you to respond to these via whats app at 7 pm while i was having dinner identifying that my preferences had been acknowledge. yet they were never offered or supplied at check in or during my stay.

Room Service was accidentally ordered against my room. I notified receipion of this as soon as I was aware (it was delivered while I was out) and returned the food. They showed me the order which confirmed that whilst my room number was stated, my name was not on the order. Unfortunately despite this being discussed with the hotel on the night, I was still charged for the food upon departure and am still chasing up a refund.

The hotel is lovely, well-kept, and clean. It is within walking distance to the airport and easy to get to the Sunbus to venture into the city. I was very happy with my stay. The cleanliness and facilities were fantastic. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the reception of the staff, who appeared to be too busy to answer simple questions or assist with relevant issues upon stay. I utilised the self-service check-in/check-out machine, which initially I thought was great; however, the hotel takes a holding deposit, which is reasonable. I checked out very early AM and the machine advised speaking to an operator to process my refund of holding money. I waited and waited, and the lady who finally came to reception was extremely rude and abruptly advised me that I didn't need to do that and it would be automatically processed. I went off to the airport thinking nothing of it; however, 5 days after my staff, my holding money has yet to be processed. I have called Novotel twice, Wednesday and Thursday, to which they keep dancing around the subject of releasing my holding money. It appears no one can give me a definitive answer, and the manager appears too busy to attend to resolve the issue. I was advised I would be provided an email with an update, and the only email I received was a survey email. Regrettably, the hotel stay was excellent; however, the staff at the reception and management could benefit from retraining in customer service skills. Very disappointing customer service. They have also charged my card for the mini bar within minutes of checkout; however, however, they won't acknowledge the release of my holding deposit almost a week after my stay. Not good enough.
