The hotel was beautiful and clean, with pleasant reception staff and an overall great location and vibe. We enjoyed the walks around the surrounding creek and it was a very lovely weekend. However, it needs to be clearer how to order room service! The QR code gets to a menu with Rooms, Conferences, Republican Tavern, Trader restaurant, etc. If you click on Republican Tavern, you get a menu and a way to book a table, but there is no room service booking function that is obvious, we never managed to find one. We rang the front desk several times for assistance, but they were not answering. We went to the Republican tavern and were seated, but the music was so bass-heavy and loud, we could not hear ourselves think let alone consider eating there, we had to leave. We are early 40's and music lovers so it was odd, we aren't older people who you may think would have this complaint, but it was really unappealing! Many people were sitting in the overspill into Traders, and the tables there were all reserved, but the Republican itself had pleanty of tables free, which we can only assume is because no one wanted to sit there in the loud music at dinner. In the end, we ordered Uber eats which went very smoothly and we were happy with what we ordered, but surely the hotel is losing money as guests are forced to eat elsewhere? We considered walking to Epping Plaza just to get some food. I don't want this public because maybe you can look into it if you know about it!
