I loved my stay. I used to work at PANCH hospital on this site before it was redevoloped, so was very nostalgic!! However a lift wasn't working, so wait times to room and to lobby were delayed.

I really liked the hotel, our room and the food the hotel's restaurant served us. My only issue is with the person who was on 27th December was working dinner shift in the restaurant. I imagine either he was supervisor or manager...the way he treated us was unprofessional, not welcoming, nor nice. He didnt say hi to us and was rude the whole time...another table came next to us and he treated them the same ugly way. Im not sure if he hates his job overall or just hates serving people...anyways I wanted to pass the whole situtation until I saw how he treated one of the staff member, a girl. He was so rude to her, he spoke so disrespectul in front of us all....obviously we could tell how uncomfortable was the girl with the fact that man was humiliating her in front of us guests...whatever issue that man had with the girl should have handle privately and in a nicer way...the whole situation was giving me the ick and even though the food was very good, we didnt return to the restaurant after that. it is a shame having staff like this working whose overall attitude is giving " I hate everyone and I hate being here"...and I felt really bad for that girl, she was nothing but nice. other than that everyone was nice and the hotel was amazing.

overall experience was great, however the daily room service wasnt up to standard, supplies were a bit hit and miss, sometimes coffeed and milk not refreshed along with having to call room service to have toilet paper refilled etc, not every day but enough to be inconvenient. vacuuming and bed making also left a little to be desired.

Good hotel, the only issue I had was the front door situation. Everytime our neighbours opened/closed their door, it sounded as if they were opening our door. There were many times we got up during the night to check our door was still locked and closed as it sounded like they had just entered our room.

We stayed over the Christmas period and unfortunately the café was not open at all during our stay, which we were not aware of prior to booking. The restaurant also operated on modified hours and was closed on some days. Parking was a little confusing initially, but once we worked it out it was easy to navigate. Staff were friendly and approachable throughout our stay. The location is very good - close to the train station and within easy walking distance of a great kid friendly bowling alley/bar/restaurant, The Keys. Cleanliness, however, was disappointing. Toiletries were not replenished during our stay, and our children found a half-eaten pie under the bed. There was also a glass containing a questionable liquid (urine?) left in the fridge. In a separate room, my in-laws found an empty box of condoms. All of these instances are concerning and suggests rooms are not thoroughly checked between guests. One of the lifts was frequently out of order, leaving only one lift servicing the building. This often resulted in delays, and with our room on the 7th floor, using the stairs was not a practical alternative. Overall, while the location and staff were positives, the cleanliness issues and reduced facilities significantly impacted our experience.
