Nice spot but non-existent service

Mick D TripAdvisor review

I booked for a week, including a Sunday and a public holiday. I paid $34 (21%) extra per night for those nights. On the Sunday, I just thought my room had been missed accidentally. When I asked for them to at least replace the towels and empty the bin, they did that. Putting the towels in the bathroom was too hard for them but that's minor. The next day, when I asked, at 5.30pm, why my room hadn't been cleaned again, I was told it was a public holiday. Did I get a discount because my room wasn't going to be cleaned? No! I paid extra! Did they advise me in advance that the room wouldn't be cleaned? No! the confirmation clearly states "Daily housekeeping". It doesn't say "Daily housekeeping except on the days we don't feel like paying extra to our minimum-wage staff". if I wanted a room that was serviced weekly, there are plenty of apartments or airbnb places locally. I chose the Novotel because I wanted my room cleaned. If I drop some crumbs on the floor when I'm eating my sandwich I want someone else to vacuum that for me. Otherwise I'd have booked an apartment that included cleaning equipment. it's not hard. I don't feel like I'm asking for much. Just what I was offered.

Hi Mick, Thank you for your feedback and please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused. It was a mistake from our housekeeping team and being a Public Holiday and weekend has no impact on the daily service. One of our new team member provided you the incorrect information. Please accept my sincere apologies for this error and will ensure that it is not repeated. Regards Dinesh

Poor & cheaper to sleep on airport floor with better options for services

EatPlayTravelReview Families - TripAdvisor review

Melbourne we all went through COVID, yet charging customers without any facilities, is a poor excuse to blame lockdown, it doesn’t fit with any service at ACOR in other States, then reduce heavily your price & remove advertised services!. No cutlery, no restaurant or cafe open, at 745pm told to go to bar next door only to be told they were closing for the evening, a Sat night!, nowhere to get food, not even water in room, nothing in room, no power all night due to auto sensor in bathroom not working. So we had no air, no lights- With a disability. Stayed in Bris last week, completely the opposite. Never written a review where I’ve been so disappointed, this was false advertising. Waste of my money. $30-$40 taxi from city, to be able to find anything or Uber. Pay the extra stay elsewhere. If this is all of Melbourne then use Airbnb, stay privately. Paying basically for a bed with zero services. We Ordered Uber Eats only to find no cutlery, plates, cups, we had to drink from the tap!! (despite booking so we had a kitchen)! Tried calling reception no one answers, had to keep going up & down, expect a nice looking room & that’s it, clean sheets. I get it’s been tough Melbourne, you were not alone but why are none of the other States treating their customers the same? Stayed in NSW, TAS, QLD, all with full advertised room facilities, remove this off your booking info, this is not worth the $ if you need or expect to be able to have water, food, feed children or basics like a running light & power.

Dear EatPlayTravelReview, Thank you for your feedback your recent stay. I am disappointed to hear about your experience to say the least. Unfortunately our restaurant is not available hence we encourage the guest to use the facilities of the restaurant next door. This is mentioned on our website as well. During your stay our team was not aware of their early closing which is disappointing to hear and I have shared your feedback with the manager. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused due to maintenance issue, although our team did offer a room move which unfortunately was declined. As promised at check out, I will contact you today to discuss your experience further. Regards Dinesh Gandhi

The hotel room was much larger than we thought. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Location to the CBD was not as far as we anticipated. Overall we were happy with our stay and would book again.

Dear Caroline H, Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. We are only 10 kms away from city and have access to Public transport with 10 minutes of walking distance. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to stay with us soon. Regards Dinesh

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The king studio was very spacious, with nice shower and the bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet. The restaurant was open for buffet breakfast due to it being the Grand Prix weekend, staff were wonderful. We were unable to stay in CBD, but this location is close to tram stop and train station also not too far away.

Dear Famtraveller8, Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. We are pleased to hear that you had a comfortable stay and commute to city was not an issue. We do hope to have you stay again with us in the near future. Regards Dinesh

Moana_nomad Couples - TripAdvisor review

Great space in Preston, for an event we had nearby in Brunswick. The room was clean, comfortable and had good amenities. The space was quiet and there was parking onsite. Simple and comfortable, seemed like a great space for business trips more than leisure as there was a great lobby and lots of desk/work spaces. Customer service was great.

Dear Moana_nomad, Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. Your kind words are a great motivation for the entire team. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to Novotel Preston. Regards Dinesh
