The elevator broke and we were on 6th floor. There were spiders in the bathroom towels. The wifi would connect but had no speed so it was useless. The carpark was well located but we were not told it cost anything and so I'm assuming the random end of trip credit card charge of $65 was for parking?? The food was extremely bland and tasteless. The coffee machine wasnt working on one of the days so I purchased coffee, which then tasted burnt. The room was clean only on 1 day out of 4. Brekafast was originally charged, but then I approached and reminded them it was included. With all the costs for everything, and lack of informing costs, lack of servicing and use of features..... it should not have cost so much.

We had booked Novotel Preseton as a training was booked for the same venue and travelling interstate we thought its feasible to book the same hotel. We booked the Deluxe King Room as per the photos thats looked decent and the room overall looked clean and satisfactory. When we had checked-in to our surprise the carpets seemed quite worn off and the curtain was drooping as the hooks were not in place and there was no bag stand to keep the suitcase in the room. As for the amenities, to our surprise there were no bathrooms slippers that were provided and we were provided with a mini fridge and coffee machine but no complimentary water bottles which usually around 2 are offered per day. We had to arrange these where the closet amenities were within 15 to 20 mins walk distance. We had opted in for the breakfast buffet as part of our stay and had checked for dietary requirements for Halal, which was advised will be offered. When we had checked with the Stratton Restraunt, it was advsied that the meat offered is Halal, yet they cant guarantee any cross contamination there are no separate grills at offer and the kitchen was small to accommodate. We had to look for alternative options for dining as options within the restraunt were very limited. The Hotel offers the convenience of location for proximity to meeting venue, but amenities and accommodation offering can be worked upon.

We were more than happy with the majority of our stay at Novotel Preston. From the moment we entered the building we were made to feel very welcome by the team at the front desk, then again later in the night on our return from our evening out, the team were just as courteous and welcoming. The following morning we were greeted in the dining room with lovely smiles and a wonderful team which was a great way to start our day. The only disappointment was that our room was located very close to the buildings lifts with only what appeared to be a service room between our room and the lift shafts, which meant that there was the regular rumblings of lifts travelling up and down at random times for most of the night, meaning a quite disturbed night for me. This did however lead to a very interesting, if not a little disconcerting discovery in the middle of the night: With the room having a frosted glass partition for the bathroom, along with the led light switch button in the mirror throwing just enough light to cause reasonable shadows through the glass, at one point I opened my eyes and noticed the shadow of the shower hand piece and hose hanging in such a way that all I could see was a hangman’s noose, a bit freaky and once seen, it couldn't be unseen. My wife and I did have a good laugh about it in the morning when I showed her but by then, as daylight slowly made its way in, it was no where near as defined as it had been through the night.

Was terrible and would not recommend to anyone

Hi James, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I understand that your experience was not a positive one, particularly as you were unable to arrange payment for your stay. As part of our standard policy, all accommodation must be paid for either prior to arrival or at the time of check-in. Unfortunately, in this instance, payment had not been made. Our staff provided you with until the following morning to arrange payment, however, you advised that you were unable to do so and subsequently decided to leave the property. While we understand this may have been an inconvenience, our staff were simply following the hotel’s standard procedures to ensure that accommodation is paid for appropriately. We cannot apologise for enforcing these requirements, as they apply to all guests. We also note that a similar situation occurred during your previous stay approximately two years ago, when you were asked to leave the hotel due to non-payment. We appreciate all feedback and regret that you were dissatisfied with your experience. However, we believe our staff acted appropriately and in accordance with our accommodation policies. Room was booked by me, payed with my card but you would only speak to my Husband! You even rang on my phone!!!! Empty condom packet found in the room so we were too scared to use anything as clearly the rooms are not cleaned properly. Smoking just outside the door so everytime we enter or leave we get covered in cigarette smoke.
