Extra charge for car parking in a nearly empty car park, room was very poorly cleaned and run down, bed was not comfortable. Would suggest staying elsewhere.

Although Ibis Budget Fawkner is well located I was not happy with the customer service. The advertised overnight tariff is incorrect once the car park fee of $5/day is added to it. The desk attendant was not very friendly. Also - the towels supplied with our room were threadbare and scratchy. I think a handtowel or teatowel would have been a thought to include with the hand basin considering it is removed from the bathroom

I message the hotel with my anticipated arrival time and then informed them that my flight had been delayed by a couple of hours. When I arrived at the hotel at around the time I had indicated I found the hotel was locked up. There was a sign with a number to ring but as I had no sim card for Australia I was unable to ring. I was fortunate that there was another person checking in at the same time who rang the number. This person told me that he had seen a staff member go inside the hotel when he saw him approaching. If this is true or not it took the staff member 10-15 minutes to open the hotel. There was no welcome just a key handed over and directions given to the room.
