Front desk personnel were personable, competent and professional. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Actually much better quality than expected at the price. The huge negative was that the AC was already shut down in spite of the warm weather. The room was hot.

The location of this hotel is very good! It’s a 5 minute walk up the street on the side to the castle and a 10 minute walk into the old town. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood and next to a one way street so you don’t hear the traffic at night. Also a taxi from the airport only takes about 15 minutes depending on traffic. Check in was easy, I didn’t realise I had to pay a tax on arrival though. I was in room 104 on the first floor. The room was good and spacious and clean. The bed was a bit hard but the pillows were nice and soft. Bathroom a nice size and had a hairdryer. The only issues I had were that the door that separated the rooms and public area on the first floor was broken so it didn’t lock, which meant that it felt a bit unsafe as if anyone could walk through to the rooms. Also on my last night, 3rd night, there was some drilling noises above my room that went on until 9pm, and lots of slamming doors and shouting. Up until then it had been quite peaceful. Check out was easy and you just leave your key card in a box and go. I would stay here again but maybe ask for a room on a higher floor to feel safer with the broken door on level one.

This hotel was a typical Ibis, nothing too fancy and all the basics you need. Our major struggle with this hotel was with the heat. We knew traveling in August could be hot, so we were sure to book a hotel with air conditioning. While the thermostat indicated there should have been air conditioning (and they gave extra instructions to set the thermostat properly), we got no relief. Further, the windows barely opened, since we were on an upper floor. It was HOT and stuffy all night. The hallways were much cooler than our room. Had we been booked for more than a night, we would have left and found something else. I'm sure other times of the year are fine, but I think advertising functioning air conditioning is a mistake.
