We booked this Ibis Budget by mistake, thinking we were booking the more mainstream Ibis just 100 m away. Anyway, never ventured so we gave it a try and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of accommodation and breakfast for value for money. This must be unbeatable! We had a very quiet room which was at a comfortable temperature and we slept like logs after a long journey from Düsseldorf by car. Well, one of us slept well, the other found the mattress rather on the firm side which is the only potentially adverse comment that we can make . Continental breakfast was simple but a delight. The competence and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. We will probably revert to type with our next Ibis booking, but if there were no option but an ibis budget in our planned vicinity, we would have no qualms about going down the budget route. Whichever grade of Ibis we stay in, we are constantly amazed at the design and attention to detail of the accommodations. This was no exception.

Our ferry arrived at Ouistreham at 22;00h and we faced a 6 hour drive so decided to stop off at Ibis budget to get a good rest before driving onward. The budget hotel was easy to spot from the road but as it was dark at night we didn't figure out where the entrance was immediately. We did find the closed entry gate eventually and I got out of the car and pushed the speaker button to gain entry. We arrived at the hotel about 23:00. The reception desk was still open and the hotel receptionist was friendly and efficient. In the morning another receptionist was there. Both the night receptionist and the morning receptionist were very friendly, helpful, efficient and polite. The hotel room was warm and very clean. That's important to me. The bedding was comfortable and the soaps smelled nice and towels were clean. All good considering it is a budget hotel. I have no complaints except maybe the room was just slightly too warm but I could have adjusted that myself I think.

For the ferry we usually stay at the Ibis Budget in Herouville but the last two times we could hear music until the early hours from a nearbye (new) venue. This hotel isn't much farther from the ferry port and is just far enough away from the peripherique to be the quietest place we've stayed at. Apparently they had outside lighting issues so we missed it in the dark and first went to the other Ibis hotel nearbye. Friendly reception staff, clean room but just a few minor issues with a reading light over one of the beds, USB ports not working and the toilet door not closing properly.
