3 nights at the Ibis Styles Caen Historic Center. Location is good (near the Hotel de Ville and Caen Castle). About 10 minutes from the train station by bus. If you want something very close to the train station, opt for the Ibis Budget. Small two-story hotel. No air-conditioning. My stay was in June 2026. Therefore, the heat wave was felt inside my room (temperature: 31 degrees Celsius, 88 F). There is a fan that mitigates the heat a little bit. Breakfast below average. No scrambled eyes or bacon. 3 French cheese options. Good. Some cherries. Below average coffee. It is a typical 2-star hotel in France. A very simple hotel, for an extravagant price.

the staff are quite friendly and the hotel's location is ideal in the city. the room is clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed. however, there was no desk in the room and the table was quite inclined, which made working on it rather uncomfortable. also, given that there is no restaurant in the hotel, there were no scrambled eggs or hot meal option for breakfast. this was a little disappointing since I have been to several ibis (not styles) in the city that had better breakfast options.

We arrive late and the receptionist Arnaut was very helpful and kind. Arnaut clearly explained and showed me where I could easily and securely park my car. The double bedroom was quiet with comfortable double bed, and good shower. The only thing that was missing was tea and coffee making facilities ?
