Not aware the breakfast finished at 9.30. Seems the hotel is run for the convenience of the staff and not the guests

Cher David G., Nous regrettons sincèrement d’apprendre que votre séjour n’ait pas répondu à vos attentes. Ayant moi-même effectué votre départ et procédé à un geste commercial de 1 000 points de courtoisie sur votre compte Accor, nous pensions avoir pu trouver une solution satisfaisante. Nous constatons toutefois que votre ressenti n’a pas été pleinement amélioré, et en sommes sincèrement désolés. En effet, les horaires du petit déjeuner sont en semaine de 06h30 à 09h30, et le week end de 07h00 à 10h30, comme il est affiché dans l'accueil de l'hôtel, ainsi qu'au niveau du bar. Concernant votre ressenti à l’égard de notre collaboratrice au petit-déjeuner, il semble qu’un malentendu se soit produit. En effet, celle-ci était en train de débarrasser le buffet en fin de service, aux alentours de 09h45. Elle vous a néanmoins laissé la possibilité de vous servir et de profiter de votre petit-déjeuner. Elle s’est simplement permis de vous rappeler les horaires du service à titre informatif. Nous sommes toutefois surpris par la sévérité de votre note, dans la mesure où vous avez pu accéder au buffet petit-déjeuner et en profiter, malgré votre arrivée en fin de service. Nous avons également eu le plaisir de vous accueillir de nouveau du 30 au 31 mai, soit peu de temps après votre premier séjour. Cette nouvelle visite nous avait laissé penser que votre expérience avait su répondre, au moins en partie, à vos attentes. L’équipe du Novotel de Caen se joint à moi pour vous souhaiter une agréable journée et espère que vous avez pu, lors de ce second séjour, profiter pleinement de notre buffet petit-déjeuner. As I personally handled your check-out and arranged a goodwill gesture of 1,000 courtesy points credited to your Accor account, we believed that a satisfactory solution had been found. However, we understand that your overall impression was not fully improved, and we are truly sorry for this. For your information, breakfast is served from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on weekdays, and from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on weekends, as indicated at the hotel reception and in the bar area. Regarding your experience with our breakfast team member, it appears that a misunderstanding may have occurred. She was in the process of clearing the buffet towards the end of service, around 9:45 a.m. However, she still allowed you to help yourself and enjoy your breakfast. She simply took the opportunity to remind you of the breakfast service hours for information purposes. We are nonetheless surprised by the severity of your rating, given that you were able to access and enjoy the breakfast buffet despite arriving towards the end of service. We also had the pleasure of welcoming you again from May 30th to 31st, shortly after your first stay. This return visit led us to believe that your overall experience had met your expectations, at least in part.
