Réservez en toute confiance votre prochain séjour." I don't think so, I have serious doubts. Stayed 4 nights in so called "superior room". Third night a big orange lamp in front of our window outside lit up and even with the curtains closed, our room was enlightened enough to not get a good night sleep. Very strange because the 2 first nights this lamp was not lit up. At the evening of our fourth night the light came back and I went to the reception to ask to switch of this light as in the first 2 nights. First the lady at the desk pretended the light was not property of the hotel....but after some discussion (i did communicate in french as a token of my willingness, although this is not my mother tongue) she admitted the light was from their second parking lot at the side of the hotel... But the only solution to her for this problem was a very brief and repeated reply "je n'y peut rien faire" ("I can not do anything about it") And there I stood.. case closed for her, not one suggestion to find a solution....no empathy at all. Novotel Caen ? No confidence anymore.. Feel so sad because the other staff e.g. at the restaurant,cleaning staff etc. were so friendly and professional ! So one "bad" staff ruined our otherwise very pleasant stay.

We stayed for only 1 night before catching the ferry home from Caen, and was really impressed. Quick and easy check-in, the room was modern and clean, and the restaurant was superb. Staff were very friendly, especially with our 2 kids, and we felt very welcome straight away. We left very early in the morning, and check-out was quick and easy as well! Overall, a great stay!

I would have expected a bit more social distancing and wearing of face masks being enforced following on from the COVID-19 crisis, especially at buffet breakfast during very busy periods. Although buffet breakfast is great, in the current circumstances, management might want to revisit to minimise risks, especially since children are not mandated to wear face masks, and when they are at the buffet, their face is just at the height of the food. Apart from that stay was to normal Novotel standards. The room we had was a little on the cool side. Staff as always very professional and courteous and a pleasure to talk to.

As you may have noticed during your stay, we are doing our best to guarantee the greatest possible health security despite the current context. Let me just correct a few points in your comment. We respect the ALL SAFE standards, I invite you to look at the previous comments on this same website showing all the will we are putting in to enforce the rules. We do our best to apply the health measures decided by the hotel / restaurant professions. Regarding the mask, during your stay it was obligatory to wear a mask for every person over than 11 years old actually it's still that in France. Know sir, that we remained open throughout the confinement period. As a result, we have largely been able to set ourselves up to guarantee both the health protocol for safety as well as the comfort of our customers. As you have seen, we are trying to do our best to respect all this health protocol, however we also appeal to the goodwill of our customers as well as to co-responsibility in respecting the protocol. It is our duty to enforce these rules, however we are not law enforcement and unfortunately some of our clients do not take the current period seriously. Clean and good access to the pool . Not vegetarian or vegan friendly although we mentioned in the reservation .They weren't able to put anything together when asked to prepare something for us . Also barman charged extra for drinks .

This was our first hotel stay in France, within days of the quarantine having been lifted, and it put us very much at ease with the measures in place, enabling us to enjoy our time in Normandy. In particular, the restaurant and waiting staff were superb. Several dishes on the menu reflected the local area, and we were pleasantly surprised by its good value (19 euros for 2 courses). The menu also changed on the second night of our stay. A special mention must go to Stefan in the restaurant who was exceptional in his service and so incredibly friendly, even playing badminton with our two boys whilst we enjoyed a digestif of the local ‘44 Calvados (well worth sampling!).

Very nice location close to Caen Périphérique and not far from the historical center. We choose this hotel to visit several parts of the Normandy (Mont saint Michel, dday beachs, Houlgatte...) The swimming pool is very useful after the breakfeast and at the end of the day all employees were very helpful and professional

This was a great hotel to stay at while visiting Normandy. It's about 35 min from the beaches, but it's in a nice location off of the highway so you don't have to go into Caen. Parking was plentiful and free. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay.

Stayed for 4 nights to visit the D-Day Beaches and exhibitions. A couple of observations from our experience: 1. Avoid parking under the trees in the car park as bird deposits make a mess of the car and in fact proved difficult to remove without damaging the paintwork. 2. There's not too much in the immediate vicinity by way of bars or restaurants which means walking into Caen. 3. On two days we were only left one set of towels and no milk for hot drinks in the room. This was sorted by the reception but couldn't understand why this would happen as it was a twin room with clearly two people occupying it. Reception staff spoke fluent English and were very helpful and amenable.

I booked a single nights stay for myself and my young granddaughter. The reception staff were English-speaking and extremely helpful. The accommodation was modern, clean, more than adequate and SO peacefully quiet. I really felt like we were the only ones there. There was an excellent range from cereals and continental breakfast to hot food. Highly recommend, definitely returning.
