We enjoyed our dinner at the Sopot Grand Hotel restaurant but the waiting time for each course was way too long. We were about to cancel the main course and leave but finally forced ourselves to wait till the end, after all. And there were only six eight guest in the restaurant! Very strange and certainly totally unacceptable.

Since its opening in 1927, the Grand Hotel Sopot on the Polish Baltic coast has been one of the most famous & luxurious grand hotels in Poland welcoming numerous famous guests to the spa town of Sopot. During the Second World War, the hotel served as the headquarters of the German navy & as a military evacuation hospital. After the war, the hotel was renovated. Today it operates under the Sofitel brand, part of the French hotel group Accor. The Sofitel Grand Sopot has a total of 84 rooms & 43 suites. During my stay, I stayed in one of the forty square meters large Junior Suites with sea view & two balconies. The Junior Suites with sea view boast very comfortable king-size beds, sitting areas with a sofa bed, flat-screen TVs, working desks, closets & wonderful views over the hotel gardens, the beach & the Gdansk Bay. All rooms & suites are fitted with parquet flooring & offer coffee & tea making facilities, as well as free wireless internet access. Twice-daily room cleaning & daily complimentary water are also standard. The tiled bathrooms are equipped with a bathtub/shower combination, a single washbasin, towel warmer, integrated toilet & toiletries by the Parisian fashion house brand Balmain. On arrival, I was presented with a selection of macarons & chocolate-covered strawberries. As my stay was booked via the Accor STEP program, I also received a free upgrade, a 100 USD hotel voucher & VIP treatment during my stay. The rooms & suites with sea view offer truly magnificent views of the sandy beach & the Bay of Gdansk as well as the longest wooden pier in Europe, shown later in this video. A very extensive breakfast buffet with everything your heart desires is served every morning in the Grand Blue Restaurant. From fruits, vegetables, salads, different types of smoked fish, pickled fish, various cold cuts of sausage & cheese, spreads, jam & yoghurts to a small cake buffet & different types of bread, I didn't miss a thing. A complimentary selection of freshly prepared smoothies, fruit juices & warm egg dishes such as Eggs Florentine or Benedict can be ordered à la carte. The service is friendly & endeavored to fulfill the wishes of the guests. Le Bar serves exquisite cocktails & spirits, accompanied by live performances such as piano music, guitar concerts or DJ events in the evenings. The Sofitel Grand Sopot has hosted many famous guests over the years, including personalities from politics, art, music & film. Among them Marlene Dietrich, Charles de Gaulle, Fidel Castro & Gunter Sachs. In the evening, Executive Chef Tomasz Iwańca conjures up excellent dishes made from fresh fish, seafood & local, seasonal produce served in the Grand Blue Restaurant. The hotel's spa & wellness center offers treatments in collaboration with Dr. Irena Eris. In addition the wellness area features an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a steam bath & a plunge pool. The well-equipped fitness center boasts state-of-the-art training equipment as well as the option of personal training such as an electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) training. During the summer months, the lovingly landscaped hotel garden & the public beach with an exclusive sunbathing area for hotel guests offer plenty of space for sunbathing & relaxation. The Sofitel Grand Sopot not only impresses with its history as a Polish hotel legend, but also with its extensive facilities, its tasty food & beverage offer & friendly service & truly is worth a visit for leisure & business travelers alike.

We only stayed one night but had a really nicr stay. First of all, service is next level! They are stretching far to meet your request! The gardens is beautiful, but the hotel it self needs an upgrade, it feels a bit 90’ish. I would love to have it either vintage or modern. Bar area has great potential but feels a bit empty. The only challange I had was in the bar when reception had not opened to put tab on the room, this could be sorted out diffrently as I had to «fix» something that was not really a problem and spend time and energy on that. I will for sure come back! The level of service I experienced have I only had at 5 star hotels.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sofitel Grand Hotel Sopot. Our family (grandma, two sons, and four grandkids) booked three rooms: one individual and two junior suites, all with sea views. The location is perfect, near the beach, park, and city center. The rooms, food, and staff were amazing. Both the pool area and beach club were excellent, like a paradise for everyone, including families with small children.
