I was in Gdansk for work and visiting the main sights. We were at the hotel just to sleep and had good, comfortable, quite, nights.

I booked a stay for 16 days, and had requested a room near the elevator. Following are the issues: 1. The second day of my stay I requested a handicap room with access to the room temperature control. The desk clerk told me no rooms were available. I asked her to check with the manager and get with me. During the entire stay I never heard from the manager nor was my room changed. Management needs to be trained on customer service. 2. Because the bathroom tub was so high, I could not step over to shower. Because I was not changed to a handicap room, to shower each day I had to go to the pool showers where there was no step. I did this for 15 days! Terrible to endure this trip each day and plan around the hours the pool area was open. Handicap availability should be a priority concern. 3. I requested help from the front desk as to how to place a local phone call. The first clerk told me to dial +48. I tried to call using this method, and it did not work. I returned to the front desk and was told to dial 0048 and then the number. Same result, I could not call out. I tried again the next day with a third clerk and he told me it was not possible to make a local call from my room. Clerks need training. 4. The young white blonde haired young man, desk clerk, was extremely rude to me with every interaction. He did not respond to 'good morning', never said 'thank you', had no eye contact with me, and spoke quite rudely. When he checked me out of the hotel, I was not given a list of charges. In fact, he took my credit card, ran it through the machine, returned the card to me, but I never even got a copy of the receipt. He turned and walked away at the end without saying a word. He needs to be trained in customer service. 5. One fish meal from the restaurant, I found a dead fly on the fish. I reported this to the server, who took the fish and asked if I wanted another one. Not wanting to try it again, I just had a bowl of soup. The chef did send a dessert with his apologies. This was the worst hotel stay I have ever had in 71 years.

All good but restaurant and bar closed at 10.00pm, no snacks even available, no mini bar in rooms and just sparkling water available. I used to have different experience while using Mercury brand. Generally nice service, clean hotel, all good for one night stay. Thank you.

Holiday hotel not up to standard

We are a family of six with older children (15 - 21y) who all have more than enough experience with hotels and this hotel didn't pass for any of us. I understand that the holiday period is there and that the hotel was fully booked which allows a few minor mistakes but this was definitely not up to standard. The breakfast was good quality wise but overcrowded, tables and floors not clean, the bar is not what you would expect, the rooms are old. I am sorry to say but this is not what you would expect and hope for.

Very expensive prices based on the standard of the hotel. Food in the restaurant very average. I got not cooked enough food and also I got sick after another one. Menu not for kids even if its called "For kids" Stuff doesnt know the covid rule and was pushing my 2,5 year old. I came to relax and the only thing i was doing was stressing

It was a very good experience. The hotel is truly amazing, very clean and in one of the best spots in town, literally few meters away from the beach. For a family stay - I can't imagine there's a better stay in Gdansk, really. Always willing to come back.

The location is excellent, the room is large and the services are very clean. The carpet was very dirty and the pool is VERY overcrowded and not comfortable.

Good hotel, very good staff and excellent services but the room wasn’t clean 100% Bathroom still had small hair left, food leftovers under the bed, bed wasn’t made properly, working desk wasn’t clean, shelf above the closet was full of dust. AC went had small spider webs. Breakfast services- great Hotel staff - good Other services- good Cleaning- 5/10 Location- 9/10

A nice hotel on an excellent location in Gdansk

After a nice stay earlier this year, we decided to stay again this hotel for 11 nights and this choice was mainly based on its excellent location, very close -just a 3 minute walk away- to the beach. We got a warm welcome at check-in. We arrived around 13.30, but we were already able to access our room. The lady behind the reception desk was very friendly and an example of excellent customer service. During our stay, we had two different rooms. After two nights, we ran into a small issue with the toilet in our room. The staff in charge at the reception desk immediately provided us with a different room. Again another example of great customer service. Unfortunately this new room was not totally clean. The cleaning team missed a few spots, such as coffee stains on the night cabinet and left-over tea in the water-cooker. The carpet and sofa had dirty spots and traces of squatted insects on the wall and ceiling. In these different times of COVID-19, the rooms are only cleaned on request. Before our arrival, I expressed my wishes to have the room quickly cleaned (emptying waste baskets, replenish toilet paper etc) every 2 days and cleaning the sheets every 4 days. Despite confirmation per email that this was registered, I had to ask for cleaning every time. And whenever there was a cleaning, it wasn't done to our satisfaction. I must say that the quality of the towels were very good. As we stayed in this hotel before, we knew what we could expect regarding the equipment of the room, the view and the comfort. Therefore it mostly matched our expectations, except for the smudgy carpet. The breakfast was fine. The staff did their very best to serve us in English and really took good care of us. There is no buffet these days, but a varied selection of common breakfast products are served at your table and you can order a hot item (eggs, sausages, pancakes etc) or other things (muesli, fruit etc) if you wish. Personally, I find the breakfast relatively expensive for what you get offered, but that is quite common in Mercure hotels all over Europe. The hotel made it mandatory for the guests to wear a mask or cover nose/mouth in public spaces, which is totally understandable. There are also some rules for the elevator - that it can be used by 1 person at a time or by 1 family that belong together. I wished that the staff would have been more strict. There were many people not respecting these rules and also the cleaning staff was seen without mask or stepping into an elevator when someone was already in it. This is a pet-friendly hotel. I have nothing against pets, but I have witnessed a lady letting her dog poop in the hallway on the 3rd floor. This is disgusting and I couldn't help imagining if any of the stains in the carpet in our room were for the same reason. I have also seen people letting their dogs out in front of the hotel and not cleaning up after. The restaurant (Winestone) has a limited menu these days, but the quality is very good. I would easily recommend anyone to use these services and eat there. The salmon, burger and steak were dishes that stood out and the prices were reasonable. The hotel is close to the sea, on just a 3 minute walk and has good public transport connections to the city center by tram. Also restaurants, supermarkets are not far away and you can even walk to the neighboring city of Sopot. All together our stay was enjoyable. A few members of staff really stood out regarding customer service and we will most likely use this hotel again next time, despite our little pieces of dissatisfaction. We understand that people make mistakes and that cleaning staff work under time pressure to get everything done for their guests. We do hope that arrangements made will be kept in the future and we also hope for the staff that the situation will return to normal soon. During the check in I was not welcome as I used to be as a gold member. Lady on the desk gave me the coupon for a gift... usually gift should wait in the room so I didn't know what should I do with it. So when I asked about this next day on the reception, another guy was confused the same as me. Fortunately young man during check out did something unexpected and I was very positively surprised at the end. So in general it was positive stay. BTW staff during the breakfast was very kind and helpful.

We were very happy with our stay at this hotel, but the restaurant was not a big experience. Otherwise, the room was very nice, and we got cold drinks and coffee every day:-) The hotel was situated very close to the beach. The room also had a nice little balcony. The bed was really comfortable and the service at the reception was very good. The fitness area was ok, a bit small and very busy. The swimmingpool was also ok, but a little busy. They should have divided the swimmingpool between the children that was playing and the adults that wanted to swim.

I was in a Privilege room which was very nice with a balcony outside. Unfortunately wasps also were visiting the balcony so I tended not to use it. Breakfast was good but very busy which became annoying when waiting for long periods of time for coffee. The bar/restaurant was good. I did not use the pool but all looked good. I did use the gym but was disappointed at how old and shabby the equipment was.

This is a very nice hotel. The property is modern and elegant. Located in a quiet,green park.The rooms are spacious, comfy and has a balcony. Staff is friendly. Breakfast buffet offers a great variety of dishes. The hotel is Close to the beautiful Beach. The trams to Gdansk stops nearby. In the vicinity there are nice parks, walkways and bikes for hire. The town of Sopot is about 3 km walk along the beach.

The location of the hotel is just perfect for those who wants to be aside from the crowded town center. It is very close to the beach an park. The hotel itself look pretty impressive from outside, however the interior is old style, some maintenance would be appreciated. Hotel rooms are clean and tidy but it is far away from saying, they are modern and comfortable. Food as always in Mercury on very high level. The stuff should be trained, this is the reason why I will set only three point in overall rating. They hang out the call without providing the information. I called there second time and similar behavior. As a big advantage, after escalation to AccordHotels, I received some compensation. Overall I think it's good place to stay, but definitely the regular price of the rooms is to high in comparison to what they offer.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed the quietness of our room, the comfortable beds and generous breakfast buffet. The location is great: only a few minutes walk from the beach and 25 minutes by tram to Gdansk city centre. Staff at the reception was extremely friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Family of 3 from France.
