Disappointing customer service after a genuine booking oversight/error

Recently booked a stay here to attend the Opener festival, I had an initial booking for 4 days, however I cancelled as I needed to change the booking details. Through cancelling and re-booking, I accidentally booked for June instead of July. I didn't realise this had happened, until I randomly saw a charge on my card statement for a nights worth of accomodation. No explanation, no warning, not even a courtesy welfare check or call. After I emailed to try and rectify this issue, I was advised that no refund could be issued as it had affected their sales and revenue. This was despite the fact they have plenty of sold out weekends to come and being a loyal Gold Accor member. Very disappointing service, especially for something that was a human error and a genuine error and oversight.

Dear Mr. B., Thank you for choosing the Mercure Gdynia Centrum hotel. We are grateful for taking the time and sharing your impressions after your visit with us. We are very sorry that we could not meet your expectations regarding your stay, which consequently affected your satisfaction so significantly. Please know that we have been doing our best to restore internet to the rooms. The only solution was to provide a connection at the reception and in the restaurant so that our guests could do important things in comfortable conditions. The failure has already been repaired and everything is back in operation. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Your opinion will definitely be an encouragement for all members of our staff to continue improving the quality of our services. Despite the unfavorable experience, we encourage you to visit Gdynia again. Missing Wi-Fi in the room, ventilation/air condition not good enough

The issue of the internet switchboard not working turned out to be a more significant failure, but after the service work was performed, everything was back in operation on Monday. Ok but not super. Rooms are ok ..airco is in the room, but seems not to be working..not cooling down . When I was staying thete was no internet in the rooms, only in the main lobby. They didn't tell at check inn. So you reach ypur room and no internet..you have to call or go down. Would have been better if I've been told at check inn. And be honest about it: don't say " perhaps tonight" when you know it wont be working
