A decent hotel in a good location

A decent hotel in a good location, a short walk from the attractions of the city, the central railway station, and the excellent Museum of the Second World War. A Zabka convenience store is directly across the road. The room was well appointed with a view of the old town and a bathroom which seemed to have been recently refurbished. Breakfast was good quality with plenty of choice, gluten-free bread available, and tables regularly cleared. Check-in was friendly and efficient. The only negative was our experience in the bar, when although I appreciate it was busy, I felt I was ignored while people who arrived after me were served. When I was finally served, I was made to feel as if I was an inconvenience. This did not reflect well upon the hotel. Overall though, I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Nice staff but rooms are not as nice as in the photos

I took a taxi from Gdansk airport at 11pm on a Friday night. It was 17kms to the hotel and took 20 minutes. I got a nice welcome from Wiktor who gave me a small bottle of wine from a fridge near reception in lieu of my Platinum Accor member free drink voucher as the bar was closed. I got an upgrade to a 20m2 Privilege room which felt a little cramped and was a bit old with no sockets near the bed. The soft drinks in the minibar were free and I was pleasantly surprised to find a large card with a picture of Gdansk and a welcome message from the hotel along with a bar of chocolate, a bar of amber soap and a small jar of coffee. I was happy to find a walk-in shower in the bathroom. I called reception to ask for a duvet cover and I'm always too hot under the duvet. A friendly girl called Natalia arrived promptly with it. Later on I couldn't see how to turn the bedside lamp off and the nightstand was fixed to the wall so I called her back. She ended up crawling under the nightstand to unplug it so she should get 5 stars just for that. There were no sockets by the bed to plug my laptop and phone in and I don't know how long the double bed was but my feet were hanging off the end for most of the night. I'm 1.76m tall. The bathrobe was also far too small for me, they should get some bigger ones. I had a look at the exercise room the next morning, it was small and basic with some cardio equipment and a rack of dumbbells. A hotel that size should provide a decent gym. I went on a 1 hour tour of the town in a golf buggy which picked me up and brought me back to the hotel. A one hour tour is enough to see everything and then you can walk back to the parts that interest you. Jakub at reception kindly gave me a late checkout at 1pm as the restaurant I was going to didn't open till 1pm and I recommend the Restauracje Ritz by the marina for lunch. They stay open all afternoon till the evening so you can have lunch as late as you want.

I got a room on the 17th floor with a wonderful view. The only drawbacks were the lack of bathrobes and slippers, and the rather low temperature in the room—I felt a bit cold. The breakfasts and the view from the window were wonderful. I was taking the elevator down for breakfast on Saturday at 7 a.m. from the 17th floor. Around the third floor, the elevator jolted a bit and then suddenly came to an abrupt stop. The emergency mode switched on. But after about a minute, I was already able to reach the ground floor. Unfortunately, this incident really disappointed and scared me.

Dear Olga, thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We truly appreciate your kind words regarding the wonderful view from your room and our breakfast offerings. It is always a pleasure to hear what our Guests enjoy during their stay. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the discomfort you experienced due to the low temperature in your room. Regarding the bathrobes and slippers, we would like to kindly note that these amenities are included in our Privilege rooms, while our standard rooms are not equipped with them. Nevertheless, we appreciate your feedback and will ensure it is considered as we continue to enhance our Guests’ experience. We are also very sorry to hear about the elevator incident. While the emergency safety system worked as designed and ensured your safe arrival to the ground floor, we fully understand that the sudden stop was unsettling. Please rest assured that our technical team regularly inspects all equipment to maintain the highest standards of safety and comfort, and your feedback will help us further enhance these procedures. We hope that despite these issues, you were able to enjoy the rest of your stay, and we sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. We would love to provide a flawless and comfortable experience, allowing you to fully enjoy your time with us. Kind regards, Aleksandra Guest Experience Manager
