Good for families, roomy for Paris, but a few fundamental issues for this category

We stood for the X-mas night in this hotel, in the middle of a public transport strike. The hotel is conveniently located one RER station away from the center of Paris (Gare du Nord), so if you don't mind the total absence of charm of the direct neighboorhood, you enjoy there a much larger room compared to what you would have in town for that price. The station itself is some 5+ minutes walk away, through a rather empty suburban office area. Women and vulnerable people might however not feel comfortable to walk around alone outside of daylight time. Coffee corner and microwave in the room are add to the comfort. There seems to be a fundamental issue with the aircon system design, if I can judge by other comments. Our room was unbearingly hot when we entered, and the system would only blow HOT (>30°C, I believe) air into the room, even on the lowest temperature stand. The hotel staff adequately solved this by relocating us in another room, which didn't had that problem although could not be called fresh. We opened the window (in December! Sorry, Greta) to get it to a comfortable temperature. Second negative point is about the breakfast area and buffet. It is quite small and not cosy at all, something between a fast food eating area and an IBIS budget hotel breakfast zone. Number of places is really limited, so we were quite fortunate that it was Xmas day and hotel occupancy was only 25% of the capacity - I wouldn't like having breakfast on a busy day there. Quality of the food was OK but the choice is rather limited. Another slightly negative is the bathroom/(separate) WC design. It is basically a large plastic unit fitted in the room. It is comfortable and functionnal, but gives a cheap impression. Again, you would expect some more elegance in this hotel category. For me, a 3.5 rating so. I rounded up here but wouldn't call it "very" good.

Located a few blocks from my meetings, I have enjoyed the comfortable breakfast area and the aid that staff has provided at every juncture. Several decent restaurants are also on the same street which was important when the nearby train station was shutdown.

The rooms are nice with plenty of spaces . The staff is very helpful and hospitallity is as you would expect. The breakfast area is a bit small, with some seatings not very pleasant for eating.

Overall we had a brilliant stay . It is just one stop by train to central Paris which is very convenient . The rooms are extremely large and Perfect for a family of 4 .

Thje room was very comfortable. There were a few things that were disconcerting. I used up the box of tissues and left it out to show it was empty. It took 2 days for it to be replaced. The main lobby washroom has a broken toilet button. During the 6 days I was there it was left unrepaired. There is a fitness centre that is small and could use some free weights. However, it was being used for luggage storage. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is good but I wondered why there was no safe place to put hot skillets when finished.

I've paid for the breakfast during my stay. I expect there will be at least some hot food (e.g. fried egg, beans, bacon, mushroom, toast etc.). However, there are only cold food, bread and a pan for you to cook the egg by yourself! I couldn't believe it was a 4-star hotel, but not a youth hostel! I stayed there for 6 nights and everyday I have no choice but ate the same simple set of breakfast. There is also no restaurant or food-selling machine in the hotel. I arrived at 9pm on the first night and I was extreme tired after travelling from Australia (26 hr flight). But I was very hungry and just wanted to order room service. No! No restaurant inside the hotel! Even worse, there is no food or biscuit or chocolate or snacks in the room, or in the lobby!
