Xmas trip to Munich, Neuschwanstein Castle and Nuremberg. We stayed as a family booking 2 rooms. One standard room for a single person and a family room. Firstly I will say that Novotel has become our go-to hotel choice for short European trips and we have always had great stays, with hotels meeting or exceeding our expectations. On this occasion at the Munich City Centre site we were a little disappointed. First I will compliment all the good things. The service, the staff the breakfast the general standards, our family room were all as expected and made for a lovely stay over this Xmas period. However the bad bits and these are worth noting especially for English language travelers were. Firstly the standard double room for a single traveler was looking tired and dated. It lacked all the modern design qualities you expect from Novotel and left one of our family members feeling very disappointed after seeing our family room in comparison. Secondly and this is the BIG ISSUE. The TVs have no access to English language television . So you have two huge TVs in the family room that are useless. No access to netflix , YouTube or the internet at all. For some reason the ability to cast or mirror your phone or tablet has also been removed. So after long days touring and just wanting to sit and watch a Xmas movie with kids before bed we had nothing. Which is impossible to believe in 2025! Huge blunder by Novotel that had made me question if I would stay with the kids again at a Novotel . Really a huge shame. Big blunder by Novotel. Has left a bit of a bad mark ‼️ if you have young kids and you just need them to switch off and watch a bit of TV , then don't pick this hotel if you don't speak German. Sorry Novotel.

Overall, i like the location and the rooms. Except for the following feedback for my stay from 28nov - 2dec. i was only provided a bottle of drinking water on the first day i checked in. Subsequent days, bottled waters were not being replenished. Secondly, the door does not latch properly and i had 2 occasions where i had someone from the housekeeping (I assumed but no cart outside) opening my door. Upon hearing that someone is in the room, he walked off very fast. i opened the door and saw the guy walking quickly away. I asked what he wanted, he just said while walking away that he will come back later. The next day, same thing happened, i opened the door to look out and this time he disappeared even faster. No explanation for why they are opening my room. The same things happened to my other colleague also staying during the same period as me.

We were located all the way in the back of the hotel so the WIFI never worked. None of the soap was filled and was never checked during clean up. We came back one day at 4 pm and they still had not cleaned our room. The blanket on the bed was so think and cold. Would likely not stay again
