The hotel is very nice and the people are friendly, I was just a bit disappointed with the room and though it was a similar standard to the IBIS. I had a better room and bathroom at the Novotel Messe for a similar price.

Very nice hotel and spacy room. The hotel location is not right in the center, but in walking distance. Spa only has only one sauna (for men and women each), an additional steam sauna or the like would be great.

This hotel has the right offers for its price: nice and modern rooms, bar and restaurant offering, and room for relaxation. The hotel is well connected for public transportation in the city and is next to a shopping mall with plenty of food offers.

The rooms were clean and spacious. Good variety at breakfast and staff were helpful and speak good English. Only drawback is that the hotel is blocked by Holiday Inn, and not easily accessible if you have lots of luggage. Not much eateries nearby but Marionplatz is only 2 stations away.

Before I state my complaints, I want to say that my overall experience during my stay is good. The hotel was as described, the rooms were clean, the breakfast great and all the staff was really kind. The complaints are separated in two categories. The first and most important was that during my stay someone took from our room 2 things that belonged to my daughter. One small white teddy bear with pink shirt and one black heart shaped very small pillow. I know that price related are non worthy but for my daughter was like someone took her rolex watch and Chanel bag. She sleeps with these two the last 8 years!! So the morning she left these on her sofa bed and at the afternoon these were missing. Of course I understand that nobody stole them but the cleaning lade took them by accident. Maybe with the towels (the bedsheets were not changed that day). I stated that the same night at the receptionist on duty. Then the next 3-4 days I was continuously asking if they found them but I don't thing anybody took that incident seriously. I was expecting someone to tell me if they found it or not but everyday I had to explain the same story to different receptionists and I always received the same answer: we don't know, we will contact with the cleaning department and let you know. But nobody was giving me an answer so I had to wait the line at the reception and ask once or twice a day. I also talked with assistant director (Mrs Wolf if I remember correct) who told me that she will see what she can do but she also never contact with me again. The two things are still missing, nobody could find them. How is that possible??? My second category of complaints are related with the organisation of the hotel's room's cleaning. Let know that my family were 7 persons staying in 3 rooms. The towels were not as they should so towels were missing some days. In one room the liquid soap in the shower was empty. I asked for two more pillows for my room. The next day they were missing. Then I asked for two pillows again. The receptionist didn't have any so she went to empty rooms in order to find and she did. The next day the pillows were missing again!!!!! I asked for a chair because my room (2 adults and 2 kids) was really small with no space for our clothes and we needed at least one chair to lay some clothes. Nobody brought the chair or didn't tell me if they could find one or not. Our pyjamas in the rooms were tossed away on the bed and not folded as I found them in other Novotel hotels (in Paris for example). In general the cleaning service and the communication of the hotel with the customers are problematic! To conclude I am really really sorry that my daughters things were missing and nobody took it seriously. And I spend so much time waiting at the reception and asking for them (more than 7 times!!!) without taking a definite answer. I would like you to contact with the hotel and ask them to look for the missing things since my daughter is crying everyday for them!! And please do something for the organisation of the room cleaning because the hotel is very nice, the staff at the reception, restaurant, bar and breakfast very good.

The room was small but adequate for a family of four. We stayed 4 nights and spent most of it exploring the city! The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful.

A Great Place To Stay

I recently spent a few days here with my husband and two children. Firstly, the location is excellent. It's a few minutes walk from the Sbahn and then only a couple of stops to Marienplatz. There are also some very good restaurants within walking distance if you don't feel like heading back into the centre. Secondly, the hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are a good size and housekeeping knocked in every morning to check if we needed anything. The pool is small but we were the only ones in it before breakfast every morning. And finally breakfast..excellent! The staff at breakfast were so welcoming and the buffet has everything you could possibly need. It was always busy but we never had to wait long for a table. The only negative thing I would say is that the bar prices are quite high. A glass of wine was over €8 which for Germany is expensive. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here on our next visit.

Staff training and areas for quick win.

We have stayed in Accor properties before. We like the size of the room, however not comfortable to have toilets at the entrance for family room and no locks. We had to request staff for slippers, toothbrushes and shaving kit which was not included in basic toiletries (very unlikely of Novotel basic standards) and even after our request only three slippers arrived for booking for four. It was quite embarrassing for us to make request for missing toiletries again, so we just let it be. Breakfast spread have scope of improvement too. Children's playroom is most unthoughtful ever with one large touch screen where kids fight to play. I wish they have kept more interactive games and activities for kids. The staff at reception was helpful. The staff at the breakfast were very unfriendly and they seriously need some training to smile and make guest welcome. We arrived in Munich as our last destination after our drive to Bavaria region and I can talk in lengths about our experience which was made special with warmth of people. However I cannot say the same about Novotel Munich staff, my assumption after looking at their grumpy faces is either staff here is overworked or poorly managed. It was sad for me to see missing joy of Christmas on all their faces. Nonetheless, I kept wishing them Merry Christmas.

Pillows were too firm

Overall good experience and friendly staff. However the rooms only offered one type of pillows. I am a soft pillow person and had therefore an unrestful sleep. Please offer both type of pillows to allow also for people with soft pillow sleep preferences a joyful sleeping experience.

I stayed to Novotel Muenchen City for one week during my Christmas holidays. The hotel provides everything a traveler needs. The room has all the amenities it is clean, spacious, well decorated, it has comfortable bed (I would like one of the pillows to be more soft) and provides coffee and tea for free. The breakfast has very good variety of food and good quality. The hotel has also indoor swimming pool and sauna that it is included in the room price.

we chose this hotel for a short three-day trip to Munich end of December essentially for its location and favourable price-quality ratio. We were not disappointed. The rooms are very modern with new furniture, flat screen TVs, fridges, and very comfortable beds (our impression was the matrasses had only recently been changed - sleep comfort was exceptional). My personal highlight was the wellness area with its gym room - the gym room is located next to the swimming pool (same secured access) and other wellness facilities. It was very clean, had everything in terms of weight machines and treadmills or stationary bicycles I required for my workout (and all the machines manifestly were new or of recent installation). Towels were in abundant supply and just outside next to the access door a water fountain (sparkling mineral water maker). - We also frequented the bar. Even though at first blush - like much of the hotel - it seems to be shaped by the same rectangular/cubic architecture, its furniture was very comfortable and it had a very good selection of reasonably-priced red wines. Whilst we do not have any concrete plans to return to Munich, if we had to, we would certainly want to return to this location and check for availability with this hotel, as we appreciated the very good price-quality ratio and the amenities as well we as the friendliness of staff at reception and bar.

Stayed 4 days over Xmas with the family. Very good service, very good breakfast and also very good food at the restaurant for dinner. Nice indoor pool and spa and good location. Rooms kind of small though for a family of 4 squeezing in and the small double beds of novotels are good when travelling alone on business but kind of narrow for a good sleep for two

Good location walking distance from city centre and near metro-station. Also easy to get to from the airport. Restaurant had decent options. Rooms extremely predictable Novotel standard. Well-kept pool and gym.
