Our room was fine for our one night stat. Comfortable bed.. lots of hot water for the shower and so on. HOWEVER, I fell foul of the rule that you are not entitled to use the hot water machine downstairs in the morning despite the fact that no room has a kettle. That's right, even with my own tea bags I was pursued to the lift for my error! I had misunderstood the receptionist the night before who said the hot water machine was free. Apparently it is but only until midnight. The problem, as a regular Ibis user, is that this is not consistent across the brand where in room kettles are not provided. So there is usually a hot water station somewhere for guests. But not so here!! The receptionist was very good in the morning and waved it off ... two mugs of hot water ! ...and I got my mug of tea !

Although care was taken to answer questions before my arrival, the truth is that the room and the noise at 8:30 a.m. every day I stayed there couldn't have been worse. I mentioned at the time of my reservation that it would be our 5th anniversary, but not only was there no consideration or attention given to this situation, but the room I was given was right next to the elevator. Every time the elevator was used, we were woken up, and it was impossible to get a full night's sleep. To make matters worse, we woke up at 8:30 a.m. to the sound of maintenance scraping the baseboards in the main hallway, which I consider completely disrespectful to guests, as the noise was immense and it sounded like someone was inside the room scraping the walls. This will undoubtedly be the first and last time I stay at this ibis in Paris.

Location was perfect (for coming and leaving by train from Gare de Lyon). The decor of the room was rather basic and functional, and the room was somewhat pricey. But for a one day business trip, it was fine.

Good overnight hotel for onward travel, good staff and nice lounge area beside reception with eating area with tables and chairs.
