We stayed at this Mercure for a couple of days before leaving Paris. I booked a Privilege Room with 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed. The listing says that the room is soundproofed...ha! We could hear talking from another room quite clearly. And a recurrent sound that I described on checkout as being like a monster...think the monster from the movie Young Frankenstein! The room had carpeting that looked like it was from the 1950s. The room was quite cramped and there was no luggage rack or place to put your luggage except on the floor. The outlet in the bathroom, apparently meant for a hairdryer, was wobbly and didn't hold a plug, while the shelf under the outlet was also wobbly and had obviously been torn from the wall. The bedding was quite nice and clean, but the bed itself was far too soft and left me with a backache each morning. While the lobby of the hotel is quite nice and well-kept, like you would find in a Hilton, our room did not match that appearance at all. I would never stay there again.

Your description of the situation, as well as the comparison you made, are inappropriate and do not reflect the typical experience at our hotel. Regarding the carpet, it has been renovated and is maintained daily according to strict standards. Its appearance is a matter of aesthetic choice that cannot satisfy all individual preferences. We have noted your comment regarding the bedding. As you yourself point out, the comfort of a mattress is a strictly personal matter. Finally, we regret the tone and nature of your overall review, which do not reflect the recognized quality of our establishment or the dedication of our staff. Lovely staff when I arrived. The Ibis rooms are always simple but clean and efficient. Breakfast buffet was fine, with a good choice. Good location for the train stations.

Positives: very conveniently located. friendly staff. Swift check-in and check-out process. Good soundproofing to room windows. Room and WC were comfortable overall. Negatives: room was too warm, and air conditioning didn't work. Bed-sheets were itchy. Uncomfortable pillows - square pillow filled with air, and not much else.

We are sincerely sorry to learn that your overall experience with us was disappointing, even though you appreciated many parts of your stay as well. We would like to thank you for highlighting our convenient location, our friendly team, great check-in and check-out process, soundproofing in-room and the overall confort of your room. Until now we didn't have any room temperature complaints. At the moment our A/C system is still turned off, as we have a central system which allows only two mode summer (heater) and winter (A/C). Unfortunatly we can not monitor it per room nor we can activate both modes. Have we known about this matter in room we could have lend you a fan or change you of room. Please, do not hesitate during your stay to inform our reception team about any inconvenience, so we can assist you during your stay. Your remarks about bed linens and pillow have also been shared to our housekeeping manager to further investigate this matter.
