Rooms designed for voyeurism but not much else.

Rooms designed with voyeurs in mind so if you suffer from gymnophobia ask for another room. Why on earth would a hotel room be designed with the wash basin alongside the bed? I don’t particularly want to watch my husband shaving and I’m sure he is not fussed about seeing me brush my teeth and clean my face, although it’s not easy to perform ablutions at the basin because the swivel mirror is only useful if you are over six foot tall. If the lights are on in the toilet and shower cubicles then there is a clear view in from the room through the mirrored glass doors and side panels so going to the toilet and showering are spectator activities unless you blunder about in the dark. The cubicle doors have gaps all the way around them so water flows out of the shower on to the floor outside and noises emanate from the toilet. Guests should be made aware of the features of this mirrored glass before being allocated these rooms so they can have a choice.

Can I ask you if you mentioned you did not like this kind of room at reception just after you noticed this issue for you?
