the hotel is less central than described - it indicates it is on the Place de la Comedie - not really!! the foyer looks smart but upstairs corridors shabby and room very basic. Check in staff great - check out seemed very anxious when we asked to leave our small cabin bags for 2 hours after check out so we could go for some lunch before heading off to our next destination. She finally conceded that we could as long as we were there at 2pm for them and not 2.30 as I asked. bizarre behaviour from a hotel - I have never experienced before any where!

Hello, thank you for your interest in our hotel. There was a misunderstanding about the luggages, you can let your luggage in the hotel and take it back whenever you want during the day. Best regards

We found a bug in our rooms. Electric plate hanging off the wall. And sink was leaking. Staff at the front desk were very nice!

Glad to be back

After 2 & half years it was good to be back in France and staying in an Accor hotel.

Room smelled strongly of disinfectant

The first room we got on the second floor was worn out and smelly, then we got offered a room on the renovated 4h floor which was better. But the extreme smell of disinfectant stayed in the room for days even though I asked not to get in cleaned. Fearing the smell of the detergent/disinfectant would get worse

Good for Dayuse

Good point: the staff is friendly and helpful Negative points ( i was room 223): - the room needs to be modernized (bathroom, at the entrance please remove the curtain and install a proper door in the wardrobe) - the parking smells very badly

Everything was great except your choice of "pillows". Gives the hotel a "we don't care" attitude. Get real pillows and you have my 10.

When driving to the Hotel, it is very difficult to locate, due to one way streets and detours.

Accor prides itself in covid measures to protect clients and staff, but at this hotel staff ride in client elevators with trolleys and cleaning staff with masks not covering their faces and all the time there is a service elevator. We went for bread and then could not get back into the room and had to go down to the reception, there was no explanation available for this. The breakfast room is too small for all the clients to have breakfast safely under covid rules.

Okay but room to improve

The room itself was quite old, as well as the parking which allows only cars up to 180cm. Unfortunately the staff member could not even recommend us another parking. Breakfast was well done.

The hotel is really hard to locate and the existence of another Mercure hotel nearby adds to the stress levels.

daver0se Couples - TripAdvisor review

The comfortable restaurant and bar shown on the web site were both closed for the duration of our stay. We were told the closure was seasonal, which means it wasn't unexpected, so the web site is deliberately misleading. The substitute for both the restaurant and the bar was an area called 'The Terrace', consisting of a scruffy outside area and the small breakfast room with flimsy paper table mats that doubled as menus.

Dear Guest, As the General Manager of the Hotel Mercure Montpellier Comedie, I sincerely thank you for your candid and honest feedback on you stay with us. Concerning the photos of the dining area found on our website which did not correspond to the configuration for summer in place during your stay this past August, I would like to express my most sincere regrets that you felt mislead by these photos. I would also like to kindly add that no deliberate misrepresentation or misleading information was intended by the posting of photos of our indoor dining facilities. Our website, as are most websites, is intended to give a general overview of our hotel and it is generally understood that additional décor may also be part of the property. Since the indoor bistro actually does exist and is in service throughout the majority of the year, there was no infringement of internet users’ trust or distortion of our property’s facilities. However, thanks to your feedback, we will pay more attention to showcasing both our lovely indoor bistro, as well as provide information and photos which propose the summer configuration of the “Terrace”. It will also be noted that weather permitting, we provide outdoor dining in lieu of the fall and winter bistro accommodations. Our establishment prides itself on the sterling reputation of integrity and service it has accomplished for a number of decades. That being said, we do very much appreciate your helping us live up to this reputation by posting your observations on this issue. In response to your assessment of our outdoor dining facilities, The Terrace, albeit your experience was one of disappointment, perhaps based on expectations which were not met in terms of décor - something which can be accredited to a matter of personal preferences - The Terrace outdoor space, with its greenery, and cozy bamboo style bar, has often been acclaimed as a refreshing, relaxing, hidden haven of modern elegance, in the midst of busy urban surroundings. It’s an honor for me to encourage readers of your post to come and see for themselves what a delight this, back-by-popular demand, year after year, outdoor space provides. As the back drop of music festivals from cool jazz, to lyric musical performances and everything in between, the Terrace creates a summer buzz and makes our urban setting palpitate with positive energy and cultural diversity. Once again, thank you for your comments and we do hope you’ll pay us another visit with the knowledge of the elements I’ve shared with you in this post. It would be my pleasure to personally meet and greet you. Yours Truly,

miroslawp505 Business - TripAdvisor review

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Montpellier. The location is great, the only drawback being that because of the tram tracks it is not always easy to find the way. The staff were very nice and helpful. Thanks to my platinum status I got an upgrade to a privilege room even through he hotel was apparently full. Great rooms and great accommodation.

Very nice hotel
