Christmas New Year Road Trip

TripAdvisor rating 3.5/5

dnh1950 Friends getaway - 05/01/2020 TripAdvisor review

A good Mercure on the edge of the city. Convenient location and very helpful staff. Decent plentiful breakfast. Safe secure parking in basement garage. The decor and rooms are a little tired hence the planned refurbishment- it needs it!

Amazing place close to Downtown

Nice beautiful hotel close to downtown. Room was big, easily lodge 3 adults.seperate bathroom and toilet. Great amanites! Dinning room was okay! Food you would expect from a restaurant in an hotel. Portions were good. Parking located under the hotel for 12€ per 24 hours period. Overall good hotel

Very good hotel. Big rooms, great bed. Staff were very friendly all the time and very helpfull. Hotel is in a very good place next to the tram. Good breakfast and not expensive. The only problem tv has not the ability to change language in English and is only french channels.

Our weekend in Montpellier

janbZ7555BL Couples - 04/05/2017 TripAdvisor review

We stayed a long weekend at Mercure Centre Antigone , its a nice hotel with very friendly staff which gave us good directions for walking around in Montpeliier , we realy enjoyed their seafood buffet which is organized a couple of times a year. The rooms were nice maybe outdated but we had a good night sleep. Breakfast was great . And hotel is close to shopping centre and city center.

Not ideal for computer users

TripAdvisor rating 3.5/5

Kenneth S Solo travel - 26/02/2017 TripAdvisor review

The standard rooms in this hotel are computer UNFRIENDLY. There is a small very low round table, that is of limited use, and also a small apology for a desk at the side of the bed. However this desk(?!) is mostly occupied by the in-room tea and coffee making facilities. These can be moved, but then there is another problem. There is a FIXED light unit about 25% of the width from the left of the "desk", which makes 25% of the surface area unusable. There might still be just enough room for the computer, but you would have to use the keyboard pointing device, because there will be no room left to use a mouse, and none for other peripherals or anything else. In fairness to hotel management, they did solve the problem. They provide another small table which, when put at right angles to the "desk", provided enough space. I was able to put the small low circular table next to the additional table provided, and use it for my portable printer. This problem does not exist at either of the local Novotels, or at the Mercure Grande Motte, so if you need to use a lap top, it might be better to choose one of these, or if you still want to stay at the Mercure Antigon, then make your requirements known to hotel management in advance. I did not use the hotel restaurant for dinner on this visit. Hotel restaurant menus are frequently a bit restricted, and there was plenty of choice of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was up to Mercure's normal standards, except if you wanted white coffee. Normally, Mercure provide pots of coffee and pots of hot milk, and if you want white coffee, you can mix it to the strength you want. Here, if you wanted white coffee, it came from a machine, and for me, it was far too milky. The standard rooms are a bit smaller than I would expect from Mercure, but once the computer problem had been sorted, there was enough room for everything. Reception staff were very helpful, but they had some new employees who seemed to be very nervous and prone to make errors. The check out was not completely satisfactory. Although they charged the correct amount, I subsequently found that they had given me the wrong bill. The copy they gave me, was the preliminary bill, before adjustments. In addition, at the time of writing, I have still not received my Accor points for this stay, although I have received the points for a subsequent stay. So far, the hotel has not responded to my complaint about the missing points or my request for a copy of the correct bill.

Very convenient for a tourist visit.

RobertEaston Couples - 01/08/2016 TripAdvisor review

We have stayed here several times over a period of years. For us the main good point is the proximity to the city centre and the underground car park. It's also easy to get to from the A9. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast worth the money. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. There is less traffic noise than could be expected from it's position. The rooms are looking in need of refurbishment though. We would be happy to visit again (and probably will).

3 nights

First night - entered into someone else's room. Came down to front desk and he was more than accommodating and apologized for the mistake. Said he would upgrade but nothing available. Next day we were upgraded. Second floor smelt like fish due to fish dinner on Friday. Not the best smell. The hallway carpets had a strong perfumes odor as well.

Great Location.

Our third time here and as always the staff were polite and helpful, nothing was to much trouble. The location is perfect for the restaurants and the shops for Comedie square. The rooms were fine the only personal downside for me, was the coffee (tubes) and paper cups.

They will encourage us to maintain our efforts so that the services we provide for you fully meet your expectations. Looking forward to welcoming you shortly in the hotel Mercure Centre Antigone.. We were switched to a disability room, which gave us extra space. Hotel was nice but very hard to find and Sat nav GPS location didn't work. Thankfully went into an Ibis where very helpful receptionist drew us a map. Once there car park under building hard to find. Staff very nice, breakfast fine, interesting location

good location, good service

good location, tram station near the hotel, you can walk to the interesting places (i.e. place de la comedie) within a few minutes. As the hotel windows are not soundproofed and the hotel is situated at two main roads the noise of the traffic is disturbing.

Excellent stay

It is my first time staying at the Mercure, which is part of Accor group, and I was pleasantly suprised by it. The hotel location is very good, it is near the Tram station and the airport shuttle bus stop. It also has very good size room.
