Overall visit was excellent. Staff were very helpful. Excellent that the parking was below the hotel and very convenient. Breakfast was very good. Only slight complaint was that the room -- Privilege Suite -- was on the road corner on the first floor. You had previously mentioned a higher floor. And it was smaller than for a similar level room in other hotels.

Everything was superb. Every member of staff - seen or unseen - contributed to this perfection with their hard work. Please thank them. The breakfast, with “hot food” this time, was a joy. Problem solved! Special mention to the restaurant staff who have come to understand some of my problems and how to solve them - and on this visit did exactly that without being asked. Superb - please thank them for me. I have managed many residential businesses in my time and understand how small problems can develop into huge upsets when dealing face to face with the public. As far as I am concerned this entire team of staff go out of their way to resolve the small problems - avoid the huge upsets - and create the “I will definitely go back to Mercure Antigone again” feeling. Which of course I have done for 16 years. This hotel has become known amongst our friends as our Montpellier appartement and it certainly feels like “home” to us. Thank you everyone Joyce

The rooms are spacious, modern and clean, but unfortunately the quality of the services does not match what you would expect from a 4-star hotel. I booked in advance and sent 2 emails for apecific requests but I didn't receive any reply. There is no minibar or fridge in the room, which is quite inconvenient. Even more disappointing, when we returned to our room in the afternoon, it had not been cleaned or serviced. The only thing that had been done was replacing the bottle of water. What I found particularly unacceptable was the issue with the towels. According to the sign in the bathroom, if you want fresh towels, you have to go to the reception yourself and ask for them. This is not the level of service I would expect from a 4-star hotel. The Wi-Fi is extremely slow, which is also unacceptable nowadays, especially for a hotel in this category. However, the worst part of our stay happened during the night. The fire alarm suddenly went off, and the receptionist on duty did not speak English and was unable to explain what was happening. As a result, all the guests ended up standing in the lobby, many of them in their pyjamas, not knowing what was going on. After around 30 minutes, the alarm was stopped and we were able to return to our rooms. It was a very frightening experience and completely ruined our night. What made the situation even worse was that the hotel did not apologise afterwards or make any gesture to acknowledge the inconvenience and distress caused to the guests. Overall, this is a hotel with nice, modern and clean rooms, but very poor services and customer care.
