We arrived late by train, so the hotel was ideal for us. Hotels on or near the Grand Île are expensive, and this was the case here. The room was quite spacious and comfortable, albeit minimal - no cupboards/drawers and no safe. The lighting was a not great, with the bathroom being illuminated only by a mirror. However, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was well serviced, very clean, and although not well equipped at least everything worked and was in good condition. The breakfast was good, but the breakfast room was quite small leading to it being very crowded at times and the staff unable to keep up. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay.

We had a pleasant stay until the last day. We were rushing to check out to make our train and as we got back to our room that had the do not disturb sign on it we opened the door to (I believe a staff member but she wasn’t wearing a maid uniform) in our room, no explanation, the door was not left ajar as it normally is when someone is cleaning. Nothing that we could tell was moved but we were rushing for a train. We could not shake the feeling of how weird the interaction was. There was no maid cart directly outside of our room, the do not disturb sign was still up because it fell when we opened the door. Nothing was moved or cleaned. We have no idea how long she was in our room or what she was doing in there unsupervised with our belongings and passports. Our room was also at the end of the hall so if she had just walked in we would have seen her walk in. If she was checking to see if we had checked out (still seems extremely odd to me) she would have immediately seen our stuff and should have left. Neither one of us could come up with a reasonable reason for her to have been there and honestly made us feel extremely uneasy. Is this a common practice?

We can confirm that the person you encountered in your room was indeed one of our housekeeping staff members and she spent less than one minute in your room. Although it was our employee, she should not have entered the room as the “Do Not Disturb” sign was displayed, and we sincerely apologize for this mistake. We fully understand how unsettling this situation must have felt, especially as you were preparing to check out. Please rest assured that nothing was touched, and we are taking the necessary steps to ensure this does not happen again.
