Hotel staff and reception area is lovely. The room is simple but very clean, easy to use and very well sound insulated. My only disappointment was with the bed. It is not a proper mattress, it is made from foam which lead to an uncomfortable sleep.

20 members of a Scottish curling club just spent 3 nights at Ibis Baar Zug and it can only be described as faultless. Members ages ranged from 30-80 and all enjoyed the hotel equally as much.

This is supposed to be a budget hotel, and it looks budget, however everything runs smoothly. Very clean, large rooms, good breakfast, and excellent service. On the negative, the bathroom would need some refurbishing, starts to look its age.

Good stay. My main issue is no iron & ironing board in the room. In US hotels, even the lowest price ones, there is always an iron &board in each room. Street noise is also an issue, but that isn't something you can fix at a hotel across the street from the train station.

I arrived late was quickly and politely checked in. The room was adequate. I had breakfast in the morning and left at 8:10. The location of the hotel is very convenient.

Short but pleasant stay. The staff were excellent! Had a tasty meal prepared quite late at arrival. Staff also lent me an adapter for my power. Room was adequate.

Clean quiet room with comfortable bed. Good breakfast, served from 6am. Ideally located across the square from the railway and bus stations. We were using a Swiss Travel Pass, so having arrived from Zurich, we used Baar as a base to visit the Rigi, Lake Lucerne, Stanserhorn, Schwyz and Zug, before continuing to Chur.

The experience was great and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a very nice stay. The staff was always willing to help and made our stay a pleasant one. The hotel is at a great location and very good connections of bus and train to Lucerne and Zurich and other places to visit in Switzerland.

My one complaint would be the noise which is obviously somewhat outside of the control of the hotel. It was hot when I visited but air conditioning was too noisy to have on and be able to sleep and could not open window as right opposite noisy train station. The room was clean, the shower was good, breakfast choice and quality was decent and staff friendly. More international TV channels would have been nice. I would stay there again as good location for ease from train station and to the head office I was visiting but only if I could stay in a room not facing the station. Mrs Johanna GASCOIN deserves to be singled out for her excellent service at departure as I had misunderstood payment requirements. She went out of her way to contact my office and arrange for payment directly.

Hotel is perfectly positioned next to any public transport, not to forget having Coop next door just adds to the ease of shopping. In regards to car parking, the terms and availability should be described in a better way on the homepage, simply to minimize the time required to actually find your way around the narrow streets of Baar. Breakfast buffet is satisfactory and for the first time with the opportunity of boiling your own egg, which definitely is a positive step. However the replenishment of various items should be optimized,. It was found however that the crew responsible was flexible. Room as such has a good size for three people. The A/C - system (cooling system) is apparently timer-controlled and shuts down during night, (around 23…) which is not only an awkward approach, but also compromises the hotel's wish for comfort. It was obvious that the A/C was operational at 22… hrs, considering the temperature level in the room. However during night the temperature started rising making it necessary to open the window, allowing the traffic noise to enter, which by the way starts at around 0500 hrs.. At around the same time the A/C becomes operational again. It was mentioned to the receptionist during the stay, and it should be looked into.

As usual - clean room , wifi was ok. My expectation of IBIS do not go beyond the two criteria. Although upon arriving i did have to wait for about 10 min as the receptionist was serving coffee to the guests outside of the hotel. I paid at check in as i was only staying one night - as there were guests in line behind me i asked the receptionist that i would need the hotel invoice to be issued to a specific address but that i am ok if she does that later and sends me the invoice per email. Gave her the paper with the address. Have not received anything by email so had to than next morning wait in line to ask for the address on the invoice (which was a portugese one) to be changed to the correct address.

As a frequent visitor I have noticed the service has been lifted. Check in and cjeck out has been improved a lot. Very little to add. Apart from the fact that the key activator is not reliable as twice a had to ask for a new key during my stay.
