Perfect location. We understood on arrival that the hotel is in the middle of a refurbishment. The lobby is very attractive and French. Most welcoming. We were very kindly upgraded from the junior suite I had booked to the Cartier Suite. This is clearly slated for a refurbishment! When you do this, I expect you’ll change the 1980s looking “Japanese” furniture. Please note that the sofa is very low and I bumped in to both the (sharp sided) low coffee table and the dining table! Loved the Louis XV style chairs & toile de jouey. Sad not to have a bath in a suite. Small things, but the kettle had to be out in the floor to plug in to the wall as the lead was short and I had to buy English Breakfast teabags at Monopole as we were told the hotel had none. (Later a wonderful waitress told me at breakfast that they are available.) pairs of sockets rather than randomly placed single ones would be useful. The pillows on the bed were excellent. Indeed, our taxi driver said the hotel is known for its bed linen. If we come back to Lyons we will definitely stay with you again and try the new restaurant. You have excellent staff who were all friendly and helpful. The concierge, Habib, is outstanding.
