I enjoyed my stay, the bed was very comfortable and I liked the character of the room which was spotlessly clean. On arrival the very pleasant staff very kindly took the time to find a quiet room for me after I mentioned that was my preference.

I am completely unsatisfied with our stay at the Mercure hotel. The experience was really bad due to the strong smell in the room and the unacceptable treatment from the staff. When I complained, the staff offered to change our family Privilege room to two separate rooms on different floors — but that is not a solution when you have a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old child. They also gave me a cleaning spray and expected me to clean the smelly room myself. After I refused, they told me I could go to another hotel if I didn't like it. This happened at 1 a.m. with my wife and kids — completely unacceptable. To make things worse, I was not reimbursed for this terrible experience. The only thing offered was free parking on the second day (normally €20), which does nothing to compensate for what we went through. I am looking for a proper and fair solution for the bad experience my family and I endured.

We booked a privilege room , and when we received the room, we noticed a terrible smell of drainage, we immedialtly asked to change, and we were moved in a regular room, which was in fact perfect, just refurbished , so we stayed the whole time in there. Of course were credited the difference. I wished the person at the front desk had told us we could arrive from the other side ( from the train station side) with our car and suitcases, because it was very difficult to reach our room from the street level, and it can be so easy from the other side. He was nice but completely useless.
