I had a single room and it was very comfortable. The bed was the comfiest I think I’ve ever slept in and there was air conditioning so the room was a great temperature. The bathroom was well equipped although I wish there had been an option to have just my towels refreshed without having the linens on the bed changed or anything as it didn’t need it. I loved the addition of a really generously sized fridge for the space. I was able to use it to have cold bottled water as it was very hot weather during my stay. Even though my room looked out on a tram and train line I had very minimal noise disruption and didn’t find it difficult to get to sleep. The staff were super friendly and helpful and on my checkout day they were very pleasant and kept my bag for me whilst I explored the city once more in the morning before leaving for my flight. The only problem I encountered was the breakfast. I had booked to have breakfast every morning but the last morning I just skipped it and had breakfast elsewhere as I had a few unfortunate mornings. The options for breakfast weren’t great. Even though I was down for breakfast quite early some mornings I found that the hot breakfast items such as sausages and bacon were stone cold at 7:30am.

The location is the best, if you have car it is right next to a decent public parking. Rooms are bit small but still cute and nice, well lit.

Beautiful room. Really good size and complimentary mini bar was pleasing Kinda tricky to find using Google maps and the instructions given weren’t that great. No PowerPoint in the bathroom made things a little tricky There was an issue with payment on the Mercure end wish took a while to be addressed and only after a ticket was raised by end with Accor head office. The staff however were extremely apologetic and handled it well in the end

I like this hotel very much and this is the third time I have stayed here. There is, however, a serious problem with the telephoning in and out. I accidentally left my cellphone at home in New York. When I tried to make an outbound call to the U.S. the man at the front desk told me overseas calls had been disabled at some point in the past. After I offered to pay for a call to New York he allowed me to make an outbound call from his desk phone. So as to not occupy the hotel's phone line, I asked my relative to call me back and gave him my room number. I ran back up to my room. The phone rang. It was the man at the front desk who told me he could not transfer the call to my room and to return downstairs. I spoke to my relative on the front desk phone for a minute or two and ended the call. Now, while I might be able to understand why the hotel would not allow outbound overseas calls from the room (guests skipping out on bills?) I certainly can't understand why an INBOUND call could not be transferred to my room. This makes absolutely no sense. What kind of hotel can't transfer an inbound call to a guest's room? It is absolutely absurd.

Our hotel policy does indeed restrict outbound international calls from guest rooms, a measure put in place to ensure the security and integrity of our services. The building is ill maintained (scuffed paint, stains on carpet and furniture) Housekeeping need to step it up (there was a hair in the shower, and a mouse in the hotel bar)
