Overall a very good experience, room was a little small for its cost; they should invest in a main entrance automatic revolving door system -it is annoying to constantly push the slow door.

Sofitel Lyon is certainly NOT a 5-star hotel. It is more like a 2-star hotel. The hotel is very old and the rooms are outdated. The rooms are in a desperate and urgent need of renovation and the service is the worst I have every experienced. Hygene, room cleaning is the worst I have ever experienced. Even 3-star chain hotels are a lot better for hygene, room service, breakfast, reception welcome attitude etc. The receptionists seem like they do not like their job.. On my check-out day, I had to remind the receptionist to cancel the provision for guarantee 300 euors, as she did not even care to ask.. Furniture is very old. There was a leak in the the bathroom; between the lass panel and the toilet which is a very high risk to slip!!! The toilet is ancient, and the space between the bath-tube and the toilet is very narrow that a person cannot even use the toilet properly, not in accordance with human anatomy!!! It is hard to get in and get out of the bath-tube due the height. Bath-tubes are not practical anymore, instead there cold have been shower cabinet at the bathroom. There were no drawers. Insufficient plugs for charging electronic items. The breakfast is NOT rich and gourmand as it should be for a 5-star hotel. Not at all compatible with the price! I am disappointed compared to the price I paid. I am not sure if I would choose this Sofitel Lyon Hotel again.
