Overall we´re pleased as company to book our groups in at the Sofitel Bellecour. This is the first time where I experienced and had myself a room which was already very very old and also the furniture (e.g. armchairs) looked a bit shabby. I think those rooms are fairly overdue for an upgrade and renovation. Besides this, the service was as good as usual.

Overall, the hotel is well situated in the City of Lyon. The hotel was clean and well-staffed with great people, from the front desk (and concierge) to the wait-staff the bar/restaurant. I would love to revisit this restaurant in the near future.

I was quite disapointed with this sofitel. The room was dirty, I saw many spiders during my stay. Windows were full of dust, that I couldn't enjoy the "river view" category. The food was great in restaurant, but there's no children's menu. The service was poor at the bar. We had waited very long to get our drinks.

I have reserved two rooms for this trip - one for me and one for my friend. One night the AC was broken in my friend room at midnight and she was moved to another room which was probably not in use for a long time and the smell was terrible so she could not sleep the whole night. She had to go to another city for a day trip the next day and hence asked to be moved again. I then spoke to the front desk in the morning and expressed my disappointment - I was then promised a free upgrade for my friend's remaining stay which was not the case at the end. As a five star hotel, I definitely do not think the service and quality of the hotel matches the standards required.
