We booked in Mercure because it is a good brand, although not a cheap one, we were shocked to discover the elevators were not working. I can still give a pass to not having the restaurant service available, but no elevators for a hotel of this caliber is not excusable, especially since we had a small baby with us. What also makes the experience particularly bad was that I called 2 days before coming the hotel reception to confirm if the reservation had made the note about the baby, it would have been at the very least polite of the staff to inform us during that moment that the restaurant would have been closed during our staying period as well as the fact that both elevators were defective. A little bit of communication and transparency can go a very long way. A discount of the rate given that such basic service was missing would have been in order. I'm terribly disappointed by the level of communication, service and the overall stay.

Having stayed here many times on business over the last 20 years, I thought it would be fine place to stay for an Xmas market tour with my wife and some friends. On the plus side, the staff were very polite and efficient and the breakfast offering was good. Now for the negatives.. - The cosy bar which I remember fondly is now never opened due to staffing issues. If you want to have a drink you have to sit in the restaurant or in the lobby. - Lunch in the restaurant is not available. - All of the bedrooms and corridors look very tired with stained carpets, mould stained curtains and worn out fittings. There were bare wires attached to the hairdryer. - Tea/coffee making supplies were laughable - one ordinary and one mint teabag, two coffee sachets and no milk (powder or jiggers). Reception did go and get some in a jug if you asked them but you shouldn't have to. - They used to provide spare towels and even a bathrobe when using the pool/spa but not anymore. - And the pool on the top floor which is boldly advertised has restricted availability due to it being rented for outside classes. All in all, it is clear there has been no investment for years and simply relies on business people and foreign bus tours who just accept things as they are - supply and demand. But never again by me!!

Stayed for one night and was one of the worst stays I have ever been from hotels within Accor! Reservation made for 2 adults and two children, room was made only for three.. the receptionist made us go to the reception twice.. as first wanted to show that is a pull out bed and then to give us the covers for us to make a bed by ourselves as he was alone… Reservation made with payment at the hotel and was charged 20$ more then the reservation.. needed to check and show the price on the Accor app! Room extremely outdated..coffee machine provided but no pads available.. asked for two and were not provided despite oh being a privilege suite and being included! The pool.. the pool is rented for external swim classes daily! Nowhere is this information during reservation, we wanted to use the pool and was completely dull without any chairs or place to swim! Very very disappointed

We use to spend one night here on our way back home at the end of our vacations, as it is very well located, close to the highway, but still in a quiet small city. Breakfast is very good. Price is not the cheapest, if you choose potential cancelling. Some update of the facilities are still required.
