Disappointing for the money. Felt like student digs. The room was very claustrophobic and the bathroom felt like a portacabin. I was worried about tripping on the step up to the bathroom and the bathroom door was noisy, so I worried about waking everyone up in the night. The bathroom smelt of the drains and I got hurt in the shower (the shower head was difficult to relocate in the holder and it went flying). On the plus side, the staff were helpful and pleasant. I'll stick to Premier Inn in future. It may be further from the station, but it's comfortable, spacious and has a proper restaurant if I want food.

i was disappointed with my stay at ibis coventry centre. as other reviews have mentioned, the rooms are basic, which in itself is not an issue. however, the overall upkeep of the room was unsatisfactory. i found stickers that did not belong to me under the blanket, which made me wonder whether the room had been properly cleaned before my stay. i also experienced repeated issues with the room key cards, although the hotel staff were very kind and reactivated them each time. the wifi was poor and i eventually had to rely on my mobile data. regarding housekeeping, i assumed that rooms would be cleaned unless a “skip the clean” or “please clean the room” sign was placed outside (this hotel only had the former), as is the case in many hotels. however, that was not the case here – cleaning must be requested through an online portal and scheduled for specific times. this was not a fault of the hotel, just something to be aware of. after learning this, i scheduled a room cleaning. but someone arrived about three hours before the scheduled time while we were still in the room and we asked if they could return at the correct time. to our disappointment, the room was not cleaned. on a more positive note, the location is convenient – it is within walking distance from the city centre and is near some parts of coventry university. the hotel staff were pleasant and did try to help as much as possible, promptly meeting requests such as providing extra clothes hangers and toilet paper. it may be suitable for a one-night stay, but i would not choose to stay for longer.

Have stayed several times. Easy walk to the centre, plenty of on-site paid parking but not expensive and lovely staff. Will certainly stay again.
