Stayed one night on business. Parking available for £6 a night. Check in was quick and simple. Room was reasonable size, with a small open cupboard for hanging clothes. Shower was powerful, but the direction of the jet couldn’t be adjusted from hitting the shower door so it soaked the floor by the sink. Breakfast was simple but filling. Location was good for those wishing to go into the city centre.

The experience was terrible. This is the second time I have stayed and both times the smell from the drains in the toilets is unbearable. The bed was not comfy and was two beds pushed together so I fell through the gap and had the worst nights sleep. The meal was burnt fish and chips or should I say overcooked and crispy, cut my mouth while chewing.

Been staying at this hotel for many years but never again. Unfriendly staff more interested in their phones, hidden parking charges, no cooked breakfast option when booking but available and the bed was not attached so was two singles that kept separating during the night.

I used to really enjoy staying at the Ibis, Coventry City Centre for work. It was well located, good value for money, with a good choice of breakfasts. I've noticed the quality has been slowly deteriorating since the last few visits, however, this one was by far the worst. I arrived Sunday evening after travelling and was immediately greeted with the smell of cigarette smoke (first floor) and the previous persons belongings under the bed. I slept with the window open in hope that the smell would dilute. It didn't. The next day I asked reception if I could change rooms due to the smell. I then changed to another room on the first floor which had the same issue. Down to reception again, I changed to another room on the second floor. This one didn't smell, however the electricity was faulty and the lights did not work. Down to reception again, I changed to another room on the second floor. Again, was greeted to the smell of cigarette smoke. Down again and at last found a room which didn't smell, didn't have previous occupiers belongings still in the room and with working lights. The rest of my stay was quite pleasant. The staff on reception were very understanding and I couldn't fault them one bit. They didn't show frustration despite my many appearances to reception and were completely understanding of the situation.
