Run away and don’t look back…..

Difficult to find... I arrived quite late - 21:30 as I was there for a training meeting lasting 2 days. The bedroom was like a 'Butlins' style chalet, on the ground floor. As I entered the room, I noticed there was a strong smell of cooking fat, that was uncomfortable, and the carpet had some dark brown stains. The paint was coming off the walls in places, there were clearly 'plaster and paint' patches in multiple places, and there was a hole in the ceiling (size of a tennis ball) where the wi-fi device was coming through. At £85 per night including breakfast, although the car park was free - it's not worth it. I went to reception to complain, and was told that there were no other rooms for me. I had driven 100 miles and almost 2 hours. When I asked what their complaint procedure would be - got a piece of scrap paper with a barely legible hand written email address - possibly in the hope that I wouldn't be able to read the address! I chose to drive home again, rather than stay here! Drove the 100 miles again in the morning to my training course and booked another hotel. Needs demolishing - repaint wouldn't be enough.

We stayed one night. The rooms were a bit smoky, maybe because our neighbor was smoking outside the door a lot. It was hard to leave without getting sick. The food menu in the rooms was outdated and incorrect. The staff didn't seem to have correct information about when breakfast was served, so we showed up when it was nearly closed and were told as much. It was awkward.

It took us over an hour to find it travelling 5 miles, postcode or address was no use tiler rang and receptionist told us to put David Lloyd in sat nav and hey presto straight there

As a future reference, in order to not have issues in finding our location, please use google maps by searching the name of the hotel (ibis Coventry South). It will bring straight in the car park. It’s great to know that our receptionist was able to guide you quickly once you called. We’ll look into improving our directions and signage to make it easier for future guests to locate us without any hassle. 6th visit in 3 years. As always it was a lovely stay. Room clean, bed comfortable. Great shower. Tea/coffe making facilities. Hair drier. Tv. Free car park. Hotel in a safe quiet area. I kniw this as I lived near it for over 8 years till.2020 All.staff friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much. I did ask on arrival.in our toom if I could be moved as there was renovation.work going on in room below. They gladly found me a room.away from it straight away. I.would say it would be great if an iron was provided in the rooms. The only complaint .and my first.ever. Is fog owners who stay. Never a problem.before but this time some guests with dogs allowed their dogs to.bark a couple of mornings Not the hotels fault. The owners fault Hotel next to.David Lloyd centre and a short walk to.Asda and the bus stop.to.the city centre on the London Road..
