Lovely stay at ibis Coventry South. The hotel is very comfortable, and the reception staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very clean, and the housekeeping staff are professional, polite, and attentive. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

Warm friendly staff and clean well maintained rooms. This hotel is also situated in an attractive wooded location. The rooms are of concrete construction and therefore quiet, unlike most modern hotel buildings that have creaky wooden floors.

The hotel really needs refurbishment as the soundproof is not very good in the room and the stairs and area outside the rooms is not really up to a good standard. Breakfast is acceptable but very basic.

I can't say we were very impressed. A few small changes would have made it satisfactory but with so many things that were wrong it is really hard to want to stay again. Driving in, the hotel looked tired and dated. The room smelt damp, very noticeable as soon as we walked in. The curtain wasn't properly attached so lots of light was let through. Probably a simple fix so having it broken felt quite poor. The noise - the walls to the outside were very thin and we were woken up by the sound of a trolley rattling past at 6am and many times there were people walking past which sounded as if there was no wall there. The hook on the bathroom for the towel was bent down/broken. The breakfast pretty good (hash browns were possibly the hightlight of the stay), a fried egg option would have been nice. I'd say if the breakfast was £7 I'd have been very impressed, at almost £10 one more egg option would have been nice. No hand towel in the bathroom. Light on the wall had a fixing plug that was out. I do believe with some of these being fixed i would feel much more positive, but there were just constant things to notice that were wrong.

I put up with the dirty carpet, the smell of damp and the poor heating, but last night was beyond bad. I have stayed in a number of Ibis Hotels and they are always impressive. I am amazed you continue to associate with this one. Issues: Smoking cannabis: I returned to the hotel after a day in the office and as soon as I drove into the car park, all I could smell was cannabis. It was everywhere, including in the room. Later in the evening it stank of cannabis in the bathroom, and I assume someone was smoking in their room. It wasn't just a light odour, it was really strong and suffocating. Tobacco smoke: People smoke on the balcony outside the rooms, and the smell comes into the rooms. It is disgusting and really affected my asthma. I asked the guy to smoke somewhere else, and he was rude and aggressive. Alarms: An alarm started going off about 10.30pm and didn't stop. I called reception and there was no answer. It stopped after about half an hour but it then started again at 3pm. Noise: There is no soundproofing or insulation to block out noise and smells, meaning it is impossible to get a good night's sleep. As well as the noise from the alarm and the smell of smoke, there were a number of drunk people walking around talking loudly, crying, playing loud music, etc
