Disappointing, the room was very cold, advised to reception, no action. Very noisy - disco down the corridor and when finally finished the walls/ceilings are so thin that the flushing of the toilets in the rooms above and next to mine could be heard.

I have stayed at the hotel many of times in the past and have always found the staff amazing and accommodating so i can not fault that. The Communal area in the front and bar area are superb and friendly, breakfast was great and the food in the bar looked amazing. Where i feel the hotel is being let down is the bathrooms in the bedroom and the leisure club. Don't get me wrong the bedroom bathroom isn't too bad and on first inspection looks pretty good. Its only when you have time to reflect in the bathroom you notice around all the edges of the bathroom floor is disgusting. I noticed it on my time before last stay but thought it was a one off and again this time just makes me think they throw a quick mop round and thats it. Black mould in the grout and silicone is simply a cleaning issue as it doesn't happen after a couple of days stay from guests. Leisure club... Now i used to work here many moons ago and this was my first time in there in a good 20 years. I was hugely disappointed at its cleanliness and the gym is a bit of a joke. Many sites call this club a SPA but it is so far from that. The leisure beds in the club have been removed and there is no where to relax in between the different items apart from a bob in the pool. It all now seems just a token room to put on the advertisements. The lad on the leisure reception simply couldn't be bothered and just wanted to get off to the pub. Now normally i'd be like "Fair play" hard days work then off to the pub... nice, but as i had just spend an hour and a half relaxing on brown slime, crystallised jacuzzi chemicals and slimy droplets of water from the steam room i wasn't best pleased. We left the leisure club an hour before the guy was due to finish so he could get down to cleaning but no, as soon as we left so did he stating (Bonus, a 40 minute early finish) so no cleaning was done. Anyway popped back in the next day in the morning before checking out at around 9:00. The club had been open a while already so thought he would had left the cleaning to the morning but alas nothing had been cleaned and as soon as i was getting changed to leave after an hour or so the same guy came in to mop the floor (Took 2 mins and was a bad job).. Really?? The showers were disgusting and the soap dispenser in one was mouldy and the other broken and falling apart. (I had my own so didn't have to use it anyway) The jacuzzi when sitting in it was again disgusting and a bit of elbow grease would bring it up ok. Crystallised chemicals in all of the grout which easily comes off when i rubbed my finger on it so there is no excuse. The grout itself was also falling out meaning water will be dripping onto the floor so would not like to see behind / under the tub and would bet if it continues it would start to sink further compromising the rest of the tiles. Honestly i could go on and on and i am normally not one to complain. What i suggest you do as management is actually get your kit on and spend an hour trying to relax in the leisure club, have a go in the gym and go and have a sit down in a bedroom bathroom and simply look around as its just not the experience visitors are going to want to have. From my last 2 visits to the hotel, i can see why Staverton Park Hotel is flourishing and growing with lots of ideas going forward where i feel your hotel is going totally in the wrong direction. I hope my opinion means something and something actually gets done about it as like i said i worked here many moons ago whilst i was still at college and have a spot in my heart for the place. Its heart breaking to see what has happened to the place. Anyway hope this comes across helpful and if you want me to actually speak to someone i would have no problem in doing so.

The reception was friendly and efficient. The double room was spacious and very comfortable. The meal served at the BMFA Dinner was very good value. I had to chase up the wine I had ordered before the dinner before it arrived at the table
