Quiet hotel with nice grounds and lovely staff

We used Mercure Daventry Court as a base for our multigenerational family holiday to visit several places in Warwickshire. Firstly, we really enjoyed the ambience and the out-of-city setting of this hotel. It seemed to have a friendly charm and all the staff were lovely. We noticed that the hotel have a special wing with what looks to be event rooms and whilst we were there over the Easter weekend, they seem to have also hosted a local meet in the lobby/bar area. We stayed in two rooms, one privilege room which accommodated two adults and a young child on the sofa bed, and a separate normal room. Beds in both room were excellent very firm (actually one of the best hotel mattresses we’ve slept on), rooms were reasonably spacious and housekeeping did a great job in cleaning the room and changing the towels when needed. We found the breakfast selection to be good and food too be of good quality. I especially appreciated being able to make a cup of lemon, ginger and honey tea with fresh ingredients. We also dined twice in the hotel’s restaurant and found the food to be tasty and reasonably priced for the setting - it was quite lovely to watch the sunset over the garden as we dined. We were able to use the pool, sauna and steam room for a supplement of £10. This was great after a long day out. The hotel inner courtyard was also quite nice for our young child to run around. Finally, extra stars to the staff especially to Kim (who attended us when we dined at the restaurant) and Keri & Iulia (who manages the buffet breakfast). Their friendliness really made our holiday special. To give a balanced view, the bathroom does look to be in need of some maintenance and was on the small side. As mentioned in some other reviews, the bathroom door had the veneer split at the bottom and paintwork poorly finished. However, this didn’t detract from our overall enjoyable stay and we would recommend the hotel to other visitors looking for a quieter out-of-city hotel with good facilities.

Excellent Business Stay at the Mercure

Had a great business stay at the Mercure Hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable – perfect for winding down after a busy day. The gym and pool facilities were well-maintained and offered everything needed for a good workout or a bit of relaxation. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a large selection to suit every taste. A special shout out to Keri, the breakfast host, who brought a fantastic energy to the mornings. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was looked after – all while keeping things light-hearted. We won’t forget the moment a pigeon flew into the window mid-breakfast – Keri handled it like a pro and still managed to keep us all laughing! All in all, a great stay. Would definitely recommend for both business and leisure travellers.

We recently stayed at the Mercure Daventry Court Hotel and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. During breakfast, we were warmly greeted by a lovely member of staff named Keri, whose professionalism and kind, accommodating manner truly stood out. Her excellent customer service made us feel genuinely valued, and we’re very grateful for the care she showed during our stay. All of the staff we encountered throughout the hotel were pleasant and helpful, which added to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our room was comfortable and offered a lovely view of the court, which was a pleasant surprise and made our stay feel more serene. We took advantage of the leisure facilities during our visit. While the steam room, sauna and swimming pool were on the smaller side, we still very much enjoyed using them—they provided a relaxing way to unwind. One small suggestion would be to consider expanding the vegan options available on the menu, particularly at breakfast. A wider variety would be greatly appreciated by guests with specific dietary preferences. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would return. Thank you to Keri and the entire team for making our visit so pleasurable.
