Good stay spoiled by unfortunate loss of money

We really enjoyed our time at the hotel. Food and facilities were good. However at the end our daughters reported that they had both had money go missing from their room (257), in total £40. I reported this by phone the next day and was told I would receive a response by email in 2 or 3 days. A week later I phoned again and was told that the cctv footage was being checked. Again I was promised an email telling me the outcome. It is 3 weeks now and still no email. This is poor customer service I am afraid.

The Accor reservation center was a nightmare telephone call dealing with an employee who was trying to do a good job but had a very poor grasp of E.. I had assumed I was speaking to reservations at the hotel and was not impressed with this initial interaction. Later dealings with the reservation manager at the actual hotel revealed what had happened and I found him to be professional and very helpful. The bedroom was much too hot, otherwise it was a nice clean room and bathroom. I would probably return if in the area.

For the second weekend in a row (7 February and 28 February), the hotel failed to credit the correct All (Accor) loyalty points. Indeed, for 7 February zero was credited. As a result I had to contact Accor Customer Relations. This shouldn't be necessary.

No room upgrade, bathrooms tired and in need of refurbishment, dimly lit, took ages for hot water to come out of taps. My room was opposite a staff door which was opened and closed all through the night with staff talking loudly in corridor, so sleep was poor. Also staff using fire exit door to leave at end of shift, and slamming shut. This hotel seems to have a priority for conferences not regular guests. Breakfast average, and poor choice. Breakfast room scruffy.

Boring stay

Compared to other hotels in the area I found my stay extremely boring with poor facilities, also my nights sleep or lack of it was also a very weak point during my stay I was kept awake all night by other guests on my wing allowing small children to run up and down the corridor until after midnight screaming and shouting then banging and laughing until around 3am and nothing was done about this despite reporting this to a staff member only good point was the cleanliness of the hotel but will definitely not be booking this hotel for my stay again and will be taking my business elsewhere to a hotel I have previously stayed at in Daventry which is a real shame as I visit and require a hotel on numerous occasions each month.
