I requested to move rooms as mine was very cold. The receptionist was very accommodating and gave me another room but it was equally as cold. There was a gap around the windows in both rooms. I also waited almost an hour and a half for my vegetarian pizza.

I am very sorry that both rooms you were moved to were cold and that the gaps around the windows affected your comfort — this is certainly not the standard we aim to deliver. I also apologise for the extremely long wait for your vegetarian pizza, which is far below the service level we expect from our team. While I’m glad the receptionist did their best to assist, it’s disappointing that we couldn’t resolve these matters during your stay. I stayed 2 nights at this hotel this week. Previous Novotel's have been good, but I will never stay at this one again. When I arrived and sat at the desk to work, I felt stickiness under my arm. The desk had old sticky drink marks and splashes all over it. When I went to bed later that night, I noticed both bedside tables were covered in the same marks. So dirty, there was no clean space for my glasses and phone. The walls were filthy too and I have no idea what it was. In the morning, I mentioned it to reception and asked it be cleaned while I was out. When I got back in the evening, unbelievably, nothing had been cleaned!

Stayed for one night on business. Room was clean enough, but the shower drain was blocked and overflowed within five minutes. The toilet is also oddly placed in what feels like a cupboard, which makes the room layout a bit strange. On the plus side, I appreciated having an iron and ironing board in the room. Breakfast was actually good and much better than some of the recent reviews suggest. Bar prices, however, are ridiculous - a can of water, a J20 and a chocolate bar came to £10. I worked in the bar area for around three hours during the day of arrival, and the only table that had been used when I turned up still hadn’t been cleared by the time I left. I was the only person in the bar, so there’s really no excuse for that level of basic service being ignored. Overall, the stay was fine, but a few easy fixes would make a big difference.
