This is our third stay with the Grand and the hotel has an elegance that we appreciate. We were impressed on our first visit and have returned each time our travels take us through Amsterdam. The thing that truly makes staying at the Grand a great experience is the service oriented attitude of the entire staff, from the employees that cleaned and serviced our room to the front desk personnel. We would like to single out one person who we meet on our first visit in 2018 and is a big influnce on our decisions to return. He is Mr Paul Westerink from concierge desk. He goes above and beyond to assist us with everything from providing us with tips on what to see in the city, to making reservation and giving us some history on the Grand and its buildings. We have stayed in hotels in the US, several European countries and in Asia. The Grand has by far provided us with the best experience. We plan to return that says it all

Between my family and myself, we have stayed more than 8 times at the hotel, and it has always been very pleasant, thus the repeat visits. But few things happened that needed some attention to: 1) The bathtub drainage cap did not seal well, therefore, the tub could not be filled to the top. 2) The nightstand had a crack at the corner seam, therefore, it was about to crack, so the stand was tilted. 3) The porter came 10 minutes earlier to pick up our luggage, and when I told him that I said to the reception to come at "5 before 8 AM', and not "NOW", he just looked at me and walked away !!!! Without saying anything to me. Then we had to call down again because no one came 10 minutes later. Just thought you may like to know about these issues. Otherwise it would be "10" like before. Stayed for 2 nights as a pre-Christmas break with my daughter. We had a fantastic time, the hotel was beautiful and the staff are just so lovely. The beds are so comfy you almost don't want to get out! Breakfast was a real highlight, so much choice and the French toast was great. After a long day exploring the Spa was a welcome bit of tranquillity and it's open late so even if it's a very long day exploring you can still experience it. Location wise the Grand is hard to beat, so close to everything but just that 1 street back so its very peaceful and no noise when you are in the hotel.
