The staff is very efficient and quite friendly. The bathroom, shower and WC are well designed and quite comfortable and easy to use. The AC (no window opening) is set right. Breakfast is quite good and offers a good selection for a hotel of this category.

We had a great one-night stay at this hotel. We truly appreciated the complimentary room upgrade, which made our stay even more comfortable. The staff kindly allowed early check-in as the room was available, which was very convenient after our journey. The location is excellent—just diagonally opposite the train station, making it perfect for travelers. The hospitality was warm and welcoming throughout. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience—highly recommended! We will definitely stay here on our next trip too.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Mercure Zurich City, which reflects a serious lack of transparency and professionalism. From the start, there was clear miscommunication. During check-in, I was informed that underground parking costs CHF 29, and for an electric car it would be around CHF 38–40. We were fine with this. However, only after we checked out did we find out about all the charges, including both the breakfast and electric charging costs. When we asked for clarification, we then discovered that the electric charging was actually CHF 29 PLUS CHF 45, which is completely different from what was initially communicated. The situation became worse with breakfast. As a Diamond member, I booked two rooms and explicitly confirmed with the receptionist that breakfast was free for both rooms. We were clearly told it was included. However, after checkout, we discovered that there was one breakfast charge applied to my other room, which had never been communicated at any point. This is unacceptable. I already have breakfast entitlement for my own room, which I did not even use. If breakfast for the second room was not included, it should have been clearly explained upfront—not revealed only after checkout. When we raised the issue, the response was fast but not helpful and did not provide clear explanations. It took several rounds of emails before we finally understood the breakdown of the charges. This kind of handling is frustrating and unprofessional. Overall, this experience was defined by poor communication, misleading information, and hidden charges. For an international hotel brand, this level of service is unacceptable. I would strongly not recommend staying here.
