This is my second stay at this hotel. I first came a few years ago and tried to sleep in and get some rest, but they put me in an area undergoing renovations, with hammering and drilling from 9 a.m. and workers arguing at the top of their voices. This time, they put me in an area where trolleys have been rattling past since 7 a.m., making the floor shake. The lift jerks as it moves, and I can hear it from my bed every time someone uses it. The bathroom door won’t close, and there’s a smell coming from the drains. To be fair, the hotel is clean, and the cleaning staff are excellent. We usually stay in Airbnbs that cost us half as much, despite this hotel calling itself “budget”, and that’s what we’ll be doing next time. In another city, my wife had to stay at an ibis budget that was infested with pests, and they didn’t even offer to move her to another room. Such appalling service is inexcusable.

although the hotel's location is great and it is housed in a magnificent old building it gives the impression of having been neglected for years... the first impression you get upon arrival at the hotel is las if you are arriving at a gas station. Furthermore, the interior, including the rooms, is in urgent need of a thorough makeover. Overall experience: disillusioned and disappointed even when not expecting the sky!

The staff was pleasant and helpful, the hotel was clean and had breakfast (for a charge) and a bar in the lobby. It was close to lots of restaurants and night life, grocery shops and the Old Port. I would definitely stay there again, great value.

The outside wasn’t at all inviting - looks like a garage. The hotel didn’t feel safe to me - location & also the tiny window. I wondered how safe it would to exit in a fire.

Close collaboration with the Marseille Maritime Fire Brigade: The Maritime Fire Brigade visits our establishment and conducts evacuation drills with our staff. They are fully familiar with the layout of the premises. Regulatory compliance: In France, a public access building (ERP) cannot legally open its doors if there is the slightest doubt regarding its evacuation capacity or safety systems. The hotel is in line with what you pay for. My bedroom had a velux window on the top floor so you couldn’t see outside, and the room is not soundproofed. The bed is comfortable and the air con worked well. The shower does not have strong pressure. Unfortunately I was woken up by housekeeping coming into my room and turning the lights on the day I as due to check out, and informed I should put the do not disturb sign on… never had this before as they don’t need to clean until you’ve checked out.

I stayed two nights. Because of the location I wass able to explore the main sights of Marseille very easily. Fabulous location for access to restaurants and port. Excellent air conditioning. Exterior of hotel main entrance doesn't do justice to interior character and cleanliness.

Pro: The room was clean, towels changed daily, bed was very comfy, good rich breakfast included, Nice location just a step from the Old Port. Con: it was very humid in the room even with the a/c, no clothes dried. The curse of paper squares instead of a regular toilet paper. Room small, but that was expected.
