We spent 4 nights with my wife on April 2022. We had a very good time. The view is amazing while having the breakfast as well as a drink on late afternoon. It's perfectly located when you want to visit the south part of Marseille. Highly recommended for these two points. But I have to say that rooms are quite old and not so nicely equipped. When you compare it at the price invoiced, this is not fair. As a platinum member, they didn't propose me any upgrade or an apology if no upgrade was available. Also no welcome drink coupon given upon check in. I had to ask for it the day after. I really didn't feel as a special guest.

Whilst the location is excellent, the hotel itself is of decent quality, it is let down badly by the poor customer care that they offer when things do not meet expectations. The hotel A/C system was taken down for maintenance resulting in warm to hot bedrooms (no pre-warning provided at time of booking). Bathroom basin leaked badly - must be a new design which washes your feet as you wash hands!! TV remote missing and yes, you have coffee/team making facilities, but bring your own cups as none provided!! A request to change my room was acknowledged by the morning shift check-in clerk but they needed time to assign a room...6-hours later, upon returning to the check-in desk, the afternoon shift check-in clerk had no record of the request. I asked to speak to the Manager but she had already gone home so left a message for her to contact me. We stayed 2 more days and not a single attempt from her to make contact. If you what to enjoy your holiday beyond just the hotel location, look for an alternate property.

2 annoying misses by staff. - arrival around my points. I was not sure about my email address as I have 3 . So I mentioned this and I was asked to give one and the lady would let me know which never happened and so, I am still.unsure. - I colleague brought my jacket back in the in the moriing and it was not brought to my room nor was I informed by the staff. It is that I thought about it in the evening before.leave.... With good staff it would have been a 9 as it only miss a beach access Ohhh and in the NEXT question BELOW -AS I CANNOT ANSWER IT AMD.WILL JUST PICK ONE - I am a.big Sofitel fan aNd told.my p.a. to make sure that this was booked for.memthrough our French org.

we pre booked 2 rooms for a one night stay ,, and prepaid...... we were then asked to check in online which we did and and charged a deposit 300euro for 2 rooms for 1 night .... on arrival we had an issue with the rooms and were told that one of the rooms was not paid and to again pay a deposit .... which we expained we did ..and that all was settled,,, The other couple arrived 10 minutes afer us and were agian asked to pay a depostiit of 100 euro for the room ... THIS WAS QUITE RIDICULOUS AND EMBARESSING AS we booked and told them that all was settled ..... again on check out we were told that one of the room was not paid for and charged 28 euro for using garage , which was paid for in cash ..... do not expect this sort of service in the least ... the excuse was the programme used ...this is an excuse since in November 2021 we were on a family holiday in Jordan and stayed at Movenpick Dead Sea and again had the same sort of problems .... if you want repeat custom get yourselves organised please....

Very warm welcome at reception, but that was the last of the welcoming service. We could not find a place to have an aperitif at the hotel at 7pm. Fair enough that the 7th floor bar was full, but the lobby bar was empty, and the waitress informed us that tables were all reserved for guests having dinner. No effort was made to accommodate us somewhere else - on the empty terrace outside, at the bar, even at a table for the 30 minutes we were asking for. We spoke to the concierge about this but he just shrugged his shoulders. Later, around 10pm in the 7th floor bar, we came across similar indifferent service. We went out to sit on the terrace for drinks, and when we asked for cushions for the seats we were told that these had been tidied away for the evening - every other seat that was taken by guests had cushions, and one would expect the waiter to simply go fetch the tidied-away cushions - this would happen in any other 5 star hotel around the world where service tends to be more proactive. So overall this was not a great stay, given our stay was short we were looking forward to enjoying some luxury! Sorry to say we left the valet at the door without a tip on departure, once reunited with our car. No tips for bar 'service' either. I am also very happy to tip good service, but not indifferent service that does not make any modicum of effort. Whilst the room view was incredible and bed was comfortable, I am not sure I left the Sofitel with any warm feelings or desire to return to be honest
