- The staff was lovely - Great view - Great amenities, Hermes toiletries never disappoint - The room service was not worthy of a 5 star establishment, the food was beyond average. We ordered 2 club sandwiches which were simply terrible - Bathrobes and slippers were not worthy of a 5 star hotel - We tend to stay in Park Hyatts or Peninsulas when we can, and this stay definitely did not entice us to switch chains going forward, Accor need to significantly step up their game with their 5 star offering

Overall a satisfying stay at a very nicely located hotel. Room was spacious but I felt a bit dated. The windows are very old and dirty. The breakfast on terrace was great and spectacular views - what I didn’t appreciate was there was no valuation of being a Platinum card holder, zero. I had to ask for drink voucher.

The maintenance of the room was not as expected. The toilet door was not closing and the toilet brush was broken into peaces. A McDonald's bag filled with rubbish remained from the evening to mid-day in the common areas.

staying on sofitel Marseille was worst experience ever so far , firstly they did not gave the room since 5pm and only excuses ,not the proper answers of why it was delayed , after you arrived from flight from your destination it was exhausted with waiting 4h , room was also not nice and not fresh so our day was over , being vegetarian there is not many choice on restaurant , 2nd day with the breakfast, they lost our order and after several time we asked about it and one hour later they bring , so in the morning ,it was like we are hungry and no food ,,,,, i felt like being the loyalty member there is no meaning at all , i checked out 2 days early , and i will not recommend anyone , you should give us my money back , finally they did not even released our guarantee money which they blocked on cheak in time , this has been now 8 days , still not have the money , i sent today a email to the hotel

Old hotel, bad service, no equipment, information, amenities, no drinks within minibar, no room service after 11pm (5 star hotel), no ironing board and iron, no information of where to call or how to reach anyone within the room. No documents or professionalism. Very poor experience unfortunately for a Sofitel.

I think this restaurant is one of the best in Marseille. The food is absolutely delicious . the flavours were intersting and original. The service was extremely professional. I would personally like to thank Anthony who looked after us exceptionally. He is a great asset to the Sofitel and looked after us in every detail. We will definitely return and do not understnad this restaurant does not have a michelin star.

The hotel has a splendid location, but if you are not European and have electronic equipment, beware. Our suite had a nice desk, but both electric sockets for the desk were occupied by lamp and phone, so there was nowhere to plug in a laptop. One could plug into a wall socket 8 m away to use at a table, but that required the cord to stretch dangerously across the floor. All electric sockets are for only European plugs. there is no USB connection to charge a cell phone. There is no phone in the bathroom. One needs to log into the Wifi fresh each time - it does not stay connected even for a day, let alone a stay.

Everything was perfect, the room, the staff, the breakfast, the view from the rooftop.... All you can expect from a Sofitel can be provided by the Vieux port hôtel. It will be our choice of destination if we come back again to Marseille.

Stayed here in a nice terrace room for the Bastille day weekend, the room phone did not work and could not be fixed over the weekend, the communications regarding the weekend travel disruption were extremely poor and access to the pool (owned by the Novotel) was blocked necessitating a journey via the basement, the road, and car park to get there.the attitude to these problems was dismissive for a hotel of this price (the concierge said, 'we are not 5 star only 4 star')

My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel Marseille Vieux-Port for two nights from the 13th to 15th May. We had an fabulous stay at the hotel. The service from out arrival, check in and check out was faultless. Our large room had a terrace which looked directly toward the Marseille Port, which is stunning. An excellent breakfast was served on the 7th floor which has a spectacular view of the Port area this included the cruise liner and ferry area.. We ate at the restaurant on the 3rd floor next to the lobby and again enjoyed wonderful views. The food was delicious and the service very professional. We were also lucky with the weather, sunshine and blue skies. It was an all together perfect stay. If we were to visit Marseille again in the future this would be our first choice of hotel to stay.

Returned with friends this time and had enjoyable stay. Only criticism was the disorganised and unfriendly staff in Dante’s who overcharged us. Thanks to reception this was corrected. Also wish to complement the lady concierge who sorted out the taxi issue so humorously.

We were offered 2 days holiday by our son & it was very pleasant - unfortunately we had chosen to have a balcony which we did not use - far too hot & too many mosquitos !! One small comment - for the toast - it would be useful to have bamboo tongs to extract the toast from the toaster.
