We spent 4 nights with my wife on April 2022. We had a very good time. The view is amazing while having the breakfast as well as a drink on late afternoon. It's perfectly located when you want to visit the south part of Marseille. Highly recommended for these two points. But I have to say that rooms are quite old and not so nicely equipped. When you compare it at the price invoiced, this is not fair. As a platinum member, they didn't propose me any upgrade or an apology if no upgrade was available. Also no welcome drink coupon given upon check in. I had to ask for it the day after. I really didn't feel as a special guest.

Whilst the location is excellent, the hotel itself is of decent quality, it is let down badly by the poor customer care that they offer when things do not meet expectations. The hotel A/C system was taken down for maintenance resulting in warm to hot bedrooms (no pre-warning provided at time of booking). Bathroom basin leaked badly - must be a new design which washes your feet as you wash hands!! TV remote missing and yes, you have coffee/team making facilities, but bring your own cups as none provided!! A request to change my room was acknowledged by the morning shift check-in clerk but they needed time to assign a room...6-hours later, upon returning to the check-in desk, the afternoon shift check-in clerk had no record of the request. I asked to speak to the Manager but she had already gone home so left a message for her to contact me. We stayed 2 more days and not a single attempt from her to make contact. If you what to enjoy your holiday beyond just the hotel location, look for an alternate property.

2 annoying misses by staff. - arrival around my points. I was not sure about my email address as I have 3 . So I mentioned this and I was asked to give one and the lady would let me know which never happened and so, I am still.unsure. - I colleague brought my jacket back in the in the moriing and it was not brought to my room nor was I informed by the staff. It is that I thought about it in the evening before.leave.... With good staff it would have been a 9 as it only miss a beach access Ohhh and in the NEXT question BELOW -AS I CANNOT ANSWER IT AMD.WILL JUST PICK ONE - I am a.big Sofitel fan aNd p.a. to make sure that this was booked for.memthrough our French org.

we pre booked 2 rooms for a one night stay ,, and prepaid...... we were then asked to check in online which we did and and charged a deposit 300euro for 2 rooms for 1 night .... on arrival we had an issue with the rooms and were told that one of the rooms was not paid and to again pay a deposit .... which we expained we did ..and that all was settled,,, The other couple arrived 10 minutes afer us and were agian asked to pay a depostiit of 100 euro for the room ... THIS WAS QUITE RIDICULOUS AND EMBARESSING AS we booked and told them that all was settled ..... again on check out we were told that one of the room was not paid for and charged 28 euro for using garage , which was paid for in cash ..... do not expect this sort of service in the least ... the excuse was the programme used ...this is an excuse since in November 2021 we were on a family holiday in Jordan and stayed at Movenpick Dead Sea and again had the same sort of problems .... if you want repeat custom get yourselves organised please....

Very warm welcome at reception, but that was the last of the welcoming service. We could not find a place to have an aperitif at the hotel at 7pm. Fair enough that the 7th floor bar was full, but the lobby bar was empty, and the waitress informed us that tables were all reserved for guests having dinner. No effort was made to accommodate us somewhere else - on the empty terrace outside, at the bar, even at a table for the 30 minutes we were asking for. We spoke to the concierge about this but he just shrugged his shoulders. Later, around 10pm in the 7th floor bar, we came across similar indifferent service. We went out to sit on the terrace for drinks, and when we asked for cushions for the seats we were told that these had been tidied away for the evening - every other seat that was taken by guests had cushions, and one would expect the waiter to simply go fetch the tidied-away cushions - this would happen in any other 5 star hotel around the world where service tends to be more proactive. So overall this was not a great stay, given our stay was short we were looking forward to enjoying some luxury! Sorry to say we left the valet at the door without a tip on departure, once reunited with our car. No tips for bar 'service' either. I am also very happy to tip good service, but not indifferent service that does not make any modicum of effort. Whilst the room view was incredible and bed was comfortable, I am not sure I left the Sofitel with any warm feelings or desire to return to be honest

This was rescheduled stay from 2020 and one we were really looking forward to having wanted to stay in this hotel in Marseille for a while. The stay did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were very friendly and looked after us. Despite arriving early the staff ensure we could leave our valuables securely so we could go out and make the most of the day. The room was exactly what we had hoped for as was the meal we had in the restaurant in the evening. The lobster was a particular highlight. We would like to say a big thank you. Hopefully we will be back in early July.

A return to one of my favourite hotels in a great city. Everyone was very efficient and welcoming. I felt calm as soon as I entered the hotel. The room (431) was a little ‘tired’ (loose wall light fitting and damaged side table) but it was extremely clean and quiet, and I slept very well. The minibar prices are ridiculous - who would pay €10 for a packet of peanuts? Overall, a lovely visit and I will return again.

As always , Sofitel Vieux Port provides an excellent customer service. The food provided in the Trois Fort restaurant is of extremely high quality. The room is serviced daily, the house keeping staff provides an excellent service. Our room overlooked the harbour and the view is breath taking. The staff at reception always willing to help with booking of taxi or referral to restaurants.

We arrived a little earlier than 3pm and while waiting for a room, we decided to try the restaurant. The responsible person lead us to our table but since we spot some tables on the front row, we asked to move there. So the lies started. The manager told us that was booked but during our lunch time they offered them to many others. Probably the manager didn’t like our face but the worst is that he lied on our face many times. We informed the reception about the fact and they said that will come back to us! They haven’t done it. So, the expectations should be low! Very low! If you are fine with that stay there!

For the last three stays at this hotel I was given a very tiny room with no desk (30cm ledge) and a view of the air conditioning units on the adjacent roof. For the price I paid it is unacceptable that I would have to go to a public place just to have enough space to open and work with my computer.

Beautiful location. We got a nice room with an amazing view on the port of Marseille. Very dedicated and attentive staff and overall excellent service. Very good breakfast. Maybe the spa facilities could be ameliorated, to small pool.

Before our trip, I wrote an email which hadn't been taken notice of or read by management. Although German, I do my correspondence with the Sofitel Marseille in French and got a bunch of emails before arrival in ... English! And it was always about the same subject (Covid), as if we were idiots and didn't know about masks and distances. The hotel's garage is too small, very difficult to manoeuvre the car. As for us, there were not enough towels, we had to ask a second one every day. THE SPA employee told us that there was just their jacuzzi for swimming, but later we realized quite a big swimming pool that was shared with a neighbour hotel. Crazy! The handbasin's drain pipe was congested (which might happen), but to ask four (!) times to fix the problem, is a little bit too much!

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Sofitel. We wanted to be downtown to discover around the old harbour. The Sofitel is very well located for that. It has a magnificent view from the restaurant deck on the old harbour. The room was in a quiet zone but too far to get the wifi correctly and it was an inconvenience for my husband who needed it for business. They were no reception number on the phone so we had to get to the lobby to ask for it and for some pillows. The ones in the room were not what you expect in a 5 stars hotel. Because of the covid situation, the number of people in the spa was restricted to eight which turned out to be nice because the place is very small! then the open hours of the spa should be longer to accommodate more people. The breakfast buffet is very good. The staff recognise some of our complains and did some gesture when we left.

I think this restaurant is one of the best in Marseille. The food is absolutely delicious . the flavours were intersting and original. The service was extremely professional. I would personally like to thank Anthony who looked after us exceptionally. He is a great asset to the Sofitel and looked after us in every detail. We will definitely return and do not understnad this restaurant does not have a michelin star.

The hotel has a splendid location, but if you are not European and have electronic equipment, beware. Our suite had a nice desk, but both electric sockets for the desk were occupied by lamp and phone, so there was nowhere to plug in a laptop. One could plug into a wall socket 8 m away to use at a table, but that required the cord to stretch dangerously across the floor. All electric sockets are for only European plugs. there is no USB connection to charge a cell phone. There is no phone in the bathroom. One needs to log into the Wifi fresh each time - it does not stay connected even for a day, let alone a stay.

Everything was perfect, the room, the staff, the breakfast, the view from the rooftop.... All you can expect from a Sofitel can be provided by the Vieux port hôtel. It will be our choice of destination if we come back again to Marseille.
