I love this 5 stars hotel where Georges Sand and other artistic celebrities stood for a few days. The view on the the Vieux port is Magic. For me the most beautiful in Marseilles. The breakfast is rich with all flavours. The staff is very kind. The client is King . It's Magic !

We loved the view and will come back to the same place next time. The situation of the hotel is central in the town. The room is clean but the bathroom is a little old. The personnel is very nice and always helping for anything. We recommend this hotel to everybody who wants to visit Marseille in a few days.

Well Located (But Not For Me)

The main reason I stayed here was because the hotel website said there were rooms with a view of the Vieux Port. I requested a room with a view and the reservation was made. Then, a couple of weeks before I arrived, they started bombarding me with offers to upgrade my room for an extra 30 Euros/night on a 100 Euro room that I thought would have a view of the port based on the hotel's representations when I made the booking. When I got there, they stuck in a room looking out at an alley: "It's very quiet..." Tried to discuss this issue with them: "Give me money!" Deceptive, unethical, manipulative. The breakfast cost 28 Euros. (Are you nuts?) And they gave me a very hard time when I attempted to buy a cup of coffee in the morning. I just went outside and had my coffee in a lovely cafe. The maid supervisor kept bursting into my room when I was on the toilet or just getting out of the shower: "Is everything OK?" I've never experienced anything like this before in a hotel. When I attempted to discus this issue with the management, they gave me a lot of "very good reasons" why the maid supervisor had to see me (unannounced) stark naked in my room. Again, kind of crazy. How would you compensate me for this quite negative experience in a hotel in the Accor chain?

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. As your comments are quite serious, I tried to understand what happened: -When making your reservation, you chose a classic room on the street for the price when you could book a luxury room with a view of the port. You made your choice and requested that we upgrade you for free for 7 days. -15 days then 3 days before your arrival, we offered you by email an upgrade (2 emails) at an advantageous rate, you refused it twice. -On your arrival, again we made the effort to offer you an advantageous rate for the upgrade, we received a new refusal from you. I do not believe that one can speak of deception or breach of ethics. We respect your choice but we are not responsable of them. The buffet breakfast at 25 euros is very appreciated by our customers who consider that it is easily worth it, however at your reservation you could have chosen a breakfast rate included again at a very advantageous price. I remember that you were able to order your coffee several times at the bar, I also remember that the breakfast team refused to charge you and you asked to pay it at the reception. However, I invite you to consult your invoice and you will see that it has never been charged to you, I myself have offered you this coffee few times. Regarding the incidents with the chambermaids, I acknowledge the lack of discernment on their part and know that we have given them your comments. To conclude, I regret once again that we have not been able to fully satisfy you, I invite you for your next visit to contact me directly, I will try to make you the best possible proposal to satisfy you and compensate your last visit. We again appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. First of all, had an issue with parking but Oliver (hotel staff) was ABSOLUTELY amazing. He actually met our car and personally escorted us to the hotel. He FAR exceeded our expectations!

The location of the hotel could not be better. Right on the Vieux Port so easy to get transport and boat trips. Breakfast was excellent (included in my rate) with a good selection of items and a view out to the port. It was also served until 11 everyday, so nice if needed a lie in! Room was excellent with a great view down to the port (I had Deluxe Double bedded room). Also quiet even though it was overlooking the busy harbour. Staff were all very nice - reception and breakfast staff always gave you a smile and greeting.

There is virtually no road connected to the entrance of the hotel. More importantly, there is even no loading/ unloading zone for guest to drop off or pick up luggage and people. The hotel claimed that there is a valet parking option but this is not the truth. Before I arrive the hotel, I have communicated with the hotel via email about the parking options and arrangements. The representative merely reply me there is a valet parking service and nothing more. As a result, I do have a legitimate expectation that there will be a loading zone for me to drop off the car to the valet parking personel. Sadly, this is not the case. When I drive to the hotel on the day I check in, I was shocked to learn that there is no way to drive to the hotel entrance. The nearest I can get is a block away the hotel and it is a busy street that parking is not available. I asked my partner to walk to the hotel and asked for help. Again, the hotel merely reply that there is a valet parking few blocks away without providing any further details. Finally, I have to find a public parking nearby by myself. When I check in, I expressed my great disappointment and the front desk staff told me that I need to call the hotel in order to enjoy the valet parking and she seems doesn't care my concern. I asked to talk to the General Manager but the staff said he/she is not available. In view of the inconvenience caused and poor handling of the hotel. I demand 4000 points as compensation.

in this house was just a prove that I enjoyed my time here again and again, this time breakfast was included. The location was certainly the main asset, but the interior still mesmerized me, very tasteful indeed. Breakfasting with view onto Vieux Port was just something I would hate to miss.
