I am writing to complain about a transportation arrangement made through your reception during my stay with a friend from 29 May to 1 June. On 1 June at approximately 2:45 PM, we requested a taxi from the hotel to Orly Airport. The transportation was arranged by your receptionist, Christy. Upon arrival at the airport, the driver demanded €55. I questioned this amount because we had paid only €36 for a taxi from Orly Airport to the hotel a few days earlier. The driver stated that the price had been agreed with the hotel. I contacted the hotel and was told to call back the following day because the receptionist who had arranged the transportation had already finished her shift. On 2 June, I spoke with Christy, who confirmed that she had arranged the booking and that the agreed price had actually been €50, not €55. She informed me that she had spoken with the driver and that I should contact him directly to recover the €5 difference. I found this response unacceptable. As guests, we requested transportation through the hotel reception and reasonably believed that the hotel was responsible for the service arranged on its behalf. It should not be the responsibility of guests to pursue refunds from drivers selected by hotel staff. However, the financial aspect is only part of our concern. We understand that there is an official fixed taxi fare between Paris and Orly Airport, and that a journey from your hotel to Orly should normally cost approximately €36. While we appreciate that a small booking fee or service charge may sometimes apply, a fare of €50–55 is significantly higher than the official taxi rate. More importantly, we were never informed of the price before entering the vehicle. Christy explained that she had not been asked about the fare. Regardless of whether she was asked, we believe guests should be informed in advance when transportation arranged through the hotel is substantially more expensive than a standard taxi. This situation also raises serious concerns about the nature of the vehicle provided. Given the significant difference between the official taxi fare and the amount charged, we are no longer certain that the vehicle was an official licensed taxi at all. Looking back, I do not recall seeing a taxi sign on the roof or a visible driver licence inside the vehicle. Had we known that the transportation might not be an official taxi, we would not have accepted it. We specifically asked for a taxi. We had no interest in using a private transfer service or any unofficial transportation provider. This raises important questions regarding passenger safety and accountability. Licensed taxis are subject to regulations, inspections and insurance requirements. If the vehicle provided was not an official taxi, guests may be exposed to unnecessary risks and uncertainty regarding insurance coverage in the event of an accident or other incident. For this reason, our complaint is not merely about the fare charged. We are concerned that hotel staff arranged transportation without clearly informing us of the price, and potentially without ensuring that the vehicle provided met the standards that guests would reasonably expect when requesting a taxi through the hotel reception. We therefore request: Reimbursement of the overcharged amount. Confirmation of whether the vehicle was an officially licensed taxi or another type of transportation service. Clarification of the hotel's policy regarding transportation arrangements made by reception staff. An explanation of how the hotel intends to prevent similar situations from affecting future guests. We look forward to your response and trust that you will treat this matter seriously.

Found things nice for what we were expecting. Would of like to had another pillow and blanket on a cold night. Some more shelf space above our heads to move around better on the floor. For what we expected from the USA, things were fine.
