Check in was not pleasant experience, as host denied check in at 12 noon and asked to come after 2.00 pm. Host was not friendly and accommodative despite we being from other country.

From the outside we were prepared to turn around and drive away, however, once entering the hotel our opinion changed. The reception and communal areas were well designed and quirky. Yes the room was basic but for a one night stop over it was acceptable. The hotel was just outside Annecy but a short walk to a bus stop and a free bus took us the ten minutes into Annecy. The breakfast was equally eccentric, with an over abundance of cakes, there was plenty on offer but you had to go and find it yourself from the fridge. Would I stay there again…yes.

Don't ask for a croissant despite being in France. Mission Impossible!

2 issues to remark: 1) Shower was broken and toilet sink was not able to absorb running water 2) My wife loves Frenk croissants, we sent an email beforehand asking to keep some for us because we already had issues to come to breakfast and not finding them. Despite being assured by email and also when ckecking in that there would be croissants, we showed up 45 minutes before brekfast end and no croissants. Hotel receptionist told us that they cannot ensure that there is croissants for everyone. Then, I cannot ensure I will come back... This is not a customer centric answer... Hotel responsibility is to ensure that everything works fine in the room and also reasonable customer needs are fulfilled. My takeaway is: night receptionist very nice, morning team... A lot of room for improvement... Will look for another hotel in the area on our next trip
