On arrival we were asked to pay taxes which we had already paid and I had to prove. We were then told we had the best room in the hotel, to arrive at the room with no view of the Eiffel Tower which we had paid for, after checking the app the room allocated was different to the room we had been given, so we went back to reception to complain about the room with no view. The guy behind the desk made a joke about photos on the website not necessarily giving a true view of what we’d paid for, however he did agree to move us to the room we’d been given on the app. The new room did have the most spectacular view and all seemed well. Unfortunately the room had t been made up for guests the bed sheets were not clean. My partner went down stairs Saturday morning to ask for fresh sheets 3 times, eventually they were changed but only the bottom sheet the duvet cover was still dirty. So on Sunday morning he went to reception again this time asking to speak to a manager, on this occasion the sheets were changed and she apologised and offered some form of compensation. The overall experience for the amount paid was a disappointment and I’m not sure it would have been acceptable in a UK hotel with a rating of 4 stars. Unfortunately we wouldn’t return to this hotel and our complaint wasn’t the only one we heard whilst standing waiting for a receptionist. The views are incredible, but the staff and the cleannesses lacks a 4 star approach. That being said my partner did propose during our stay so the weekend wasn’t a complete disaster.
