Though the name of the hotel suggested (Centre Gare) it was right at the station area, it turns out it was actually a couple of blocks further away. However that was a pleasant surprise. Just meant we had to walk 5 more minutes breathing in the crisp air. There is a Coop literally 80meters away. Rooms are pretty small as expected but functionally designed and clean. And the staff is very friendly and helpful. Value for money is 10/10. I will definitely stay here again.

An overnight stop after flight from UK, close to Geneva Main Station for a timed train next morning to Sierre. Enjoyed one of the meals on offer, very well looked after by receptionist on duty.

Great service, they fixed any issues I had quickly and professionally, however the online system attempted to charge me city tax twice as I paid it upon arrival and received a bill at the end which showed this payment but had an additional 6chf included for the same thing. Staff quickly removed this but had they not checked I wouldve paid the tax twice.

Clean but very small

The Ibis Gare in Geneva is clean, but very small. The shower floor is very slippery when wet, nothing to grab onto. There are not any places to put your toiletries in bathroom when more than one guest. A shelf or two would be helpful in bathroom. Also no hand towels or wash cloths are provided. Only bath towels.

We arrive at the hotel at around midnight due to our delayed flight. At check in we asked if we were able to get a hotel drink but we’re told they don’t usually work in the hotel so they didn’t know. We arrived in the room and it was overly warm, we were unable to change the temp due to the thermostat being snapped so we opened the window but it let in a lot of street noise. We couldn’t get the plug to work so we went to use the USB ports. One of them had been completely damaged and bent inside the other had to be at a certain angle. This wasn’t great with three phones to charge. Luckily I had a power bank with me which lasted Saturday and some of the Sunday but all of our phones ran out of charge on the Sunday as we all took a little bit of charge from the 1 USB port which did work. We spent the afternoon in a coffee shop charging our phones due to this problem as our flight home had been delayed so it wasn’t idea we weren’t able to charge our phones in the room. The shower was overly powerful and leaked which caused the shower head to spin onto the window.

A good short trip

I stayed for one night before catching a flight the following day and had a very good experience. The room was lovely, on the small side but fine for a short trip; the en-suite however was a really nice size. The decor was modern and felt very luxurious. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. The receptionist kindly lent me an adaptor to charge my phone overnight as the USB charging ports in the room weren’t working and I didn’t have one the right size. Overall a good trip and I would definitely stay again.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Room was spotlessly clean and modern. No kettle in the room and we were room only but we asked for a kettle and got one no problem. Good location close to Gare Cornavin.

Easy to access by public transport, staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable - standard Ibis. Small bathroom, and you may wish to bring your own kettle. No electrical adaptors available, so had to buy one in the town. Hotel evacuated late at night due to a fire in the air conditioning plant, that was a drama we could have done without!

Management could’ve anticipated that the smoke would have affected our room since it was next to the one with the fire. We also had no electricity which we mentioned. All we wanted was a functioning safe room. Moving us to another hotel in the middle of the night as fine if u didn’t have any more rooms but simply telling us to catch the bus to the airport in a few hours in an unfamiliar area AND in the dark AND being female AND an hour earlier than we would have originally had to, was just unacceptable. I had already worked out the logistics and timing to the airport months in advance when I chose the hotel and this included the timing and connections of my flight. We had hardly any sleep due to the fire emergency and the very least the hotel could have done after moving us would have been to provide transportation to the airport so we wouldn’t have had to be inconvenienced any further. At the most, you should have refunded the entire cost of the room as we hardly got to use it, let alone actually sleep. In our haste to pack up without any electricity, we ended up forgetting items in the first hotel. On top of this, I researched extensively to ensure the triple room does not include an uncomfortable sofa bed and has three normal beds with proper mattresses. The hotel we were moved to had us in a room with a sofa bed so that made the night/morning even worse and absolutely no chance of getting at least a couple of hours of decent sleep. I also timed my flights and checked that breakfast was available prior to booking the hotel but having to leave earlier than expected meant we would miss breakfast. The manager on duty very kindly arranged for most of breakfast to be available before we departed but being stressed with the uncertainties of the logistics of getting to the airport in time and due to the early hour meant we could hardly stomach much. We didn’t cause the emergency and your hotel should still be looking after it’s guests no matter what instead of wiping their hands off the issue and telling them to take the bus. Swiss are supposed to be known for hospitality but it was sadly lacking in this instance.

For the dislocation, it is a decision of the firemen of Geneva who advised us for reasons of security to dislodge the floors most affected by the fire. This is an unfortunate incident that tarnished your stay. It is true that our collaborators found themselves in a fortunately new situation and it is another thing to react to an exercise than to a real start of fire. We found it normal to pay for the taxi to drop you off at Ibis Nations, which is a few minutes from the airport. The receptionist explained to you and tried to reassure you but keeping calm in your circumstances is not easy. However, the receptionists have received congratulations from firefighters and fire professionals for their coolness and mastery of events. Luckily there was more fear than harm. Very warm room, very loud hotel, very uncomfortable beds

Our room was very hot and the only way to cool the room was to open the window. But, the street noise was extremely loud all night (sirens, recycling trucks, etc....). The mattresses continually slid off the beds while sleeping. Oddly, there was only 1 outlet in the room to charge phones, headphones, tablets, etc... Employees were all extremely helpful and nice.
