We were there for my brother’s Marathon and the team went out of its way to make it extra special for him. Special kudos to the entire reception and concierge teams and to Rama Magam who i was in contact with and provided mementos and photos and fruits and macaroons to cheer on my brother before the big Day. The hotel was in an amazing location. We walked everywhere to all the major sites. Unfortunately, the hotel just didn’t live up to our lofty expectations. We had recently stayed at a Conrad hotel in London and were blown away. This made it a challenge for the Sofitel to live up to and sadly that it just didn’t really live up to it. Our room felt like it needed a refresh. It wasn’t immaculate like we expected as there were stains in the carpet. I think the rooms were great though, very large and comfortable for our family. The bed was so cozy and the table was nice to have tea and breakfast on. The staff at the front desk was great and very kind and helpful. The concierge team went out of their way to help arrange our ride from Disneyland to the hotel. Christian was great at check-in, however he did say we would have a view of the Eiffel Tower (we didn’t request one) but sadly when we got to the room there was no view of the tower. This was a let down for my kids since he told them they would have one, so I wasn’t sure why he even said we would. Anyways, the staff was great. We were not big fans of the breakfast or the room cleaning. I never felt the room was cleaned or restocked very well. Multiple times the trash was not emptied, towels were not replaced, and the coffee/tea station was not refilled. We did love the turn down service. What a nice touch. The breakfast was very tasty and a nice selection but just never felt welcome when seated in the dining room. On our last day we were never asked if we wanted anything on the ala carte menu, yet table next to us was. Anyways we really liked our stay but maybe was just hoping for more. Again it might not be fair since we had just stayed at a really nice Conrad a few days before and were always comparing the two.

The location was okay. The lobby and bar area was noisy (there was light construction during one day with unbearable noise in the hallway outside the bar and restaurant). The hotel overall and the rooms were just mediocre. The worst part of the experience, without question, was the service at the bar and restaurant. The staff didn't care about their jobs or the customers, and they seemed angry to have to do anything at all. We didn't even use our full hotel credit because it was so painful and uncomfortable.

1. The bed was horrible. There was a dent in the center. 2. We booked dinner our last night and no one told us the restaurant was closed.
